Hey Tristan. Will give it a look in the morning (think it might’ve come through while I was off, so I missed it). Also, you could not have chosen a funnier post to reply to for this.

In an effort to force myself to replay all of Kingdom Hearts before IV, Kotaku is launching Guiding Key, a year-long book club going through every Kingdom Hearts game. Join me! It'll be fun, I swear. If you're a critic or dev who wants to chat about a specific game for the series, get in touch!

thinking about one time when a company said they wouldn’t send an outlet i was working at codes because we said we had plans to do a (POST LAUNCH) spoilercast and they didn’t want coverage that spoiled shit, even if it was marked as such and was after the game came out.

It's become a lot harder to spotlight fanmade stuff in the age of AI because a lot of folks will either lie about it or bury it in a private Discord server that only a few people know about.

I'm sharing this as a mea culpa, because it turns out this game was coded with Claude, a fact that is reasonably difficult to track down for a piece that was intended as nothing more than a quick, fun "hey look at this" kind of thing.

Hi hi I'm gonna be at New York Comic-Con (first time going!) on Thursday if you have something you think Kotaku should see. I have a couple hard commitments but otherwise am kinda scouting out the show for the site. hmu!

Avengers: Endgame's re-release has made it the highest-grossing movie of all-time once more, but the movie also feels like Marvel desperately trying to make audience think everything has gone according to plan. kotaku.com/avengers-endgame-encore-…

Also! If you're reaching out about chatting for this, I'm taking note but will get back to you probably closer to when the series reaches the game you've mentioned!

didn't go into too much detail here but i'm playing the new collection on switch 2, and other than some weird stuttering in the opening CG, first game seems to run pretty smooth. sure hope the other fucken dozen games do, as well.

Something rotten will probably come down. I had to check with nebula before I could do anything though I believe I now have full access to everything. I also haven’t actually sat down at my computer since Wednesday. I’m so sorry to everyone affected. It has been a heartbreaking week.

I shouldn’t let one crazy email get to me this much but I just want to make it clear: I obviously did not know. I found out at the exact same time as everyone else. It has been extremely difficult to deal with emotionally and I do appreciate everyone who’s reached out so much.

I do wonder how 2x2 is going to establish real stakes considering it is, as far as we know, non-canon. Because even now I think of all the possible things it could do and how I may just kinda shrug them off as a thought experiment. Interesting challenge for a game like that to work around.
