New video is out: When Morality Becomes Obedience | Joe Schmid Response If miracles convince you that a religious authority speaks for God, should you then distrust your own moral judgment whenever it conflicts with that authority? That’s the question at the heart of this video.

New Video: What happened to Joe Schmid? I compared the intellectual standards he championed in The Majesty of Reason with the standards he now applies to Catholic miracles and the Magisterium. Has he embraced humility, or surrendered his critical independence?

If God wants people to know the truth, why do sincere Christians who pray, study Scripture, and seek God still reach incompatible conclusions about what he wants? My new video asks: Is God a Bad Communicator? youtu.be/LmrXtp8rPvk

“Undesigned coincidence”… or undesigned possibility? In my new video, I examine one of Tim McGrew’s examples and ask a simple question: How much of the supposed connection is actually in the Gospels, and how much is supplied by the apologist? youtu.be/ndxaAFla6LA

My new video is live: Lydia McGrew's Undesigned Coincidences Don't Work Do interlocking details in the Gospels really prove independent eyewitness testimony? I argue that literary dependence and shared traditions make that conclusion far too easy.

John Lennox repeatedly describes Christianity as rational and evidence-based. But when Steven Bartlett asks him for evidence, Lennox often turns to trust, meaning, personal experience, forgiveness, and hope. My critique of his Diary of a CEO interview is now live:

Possibility is not probability. Part 4 of my critique of Than’s Bayesian resurrection argument is now out. This one focuses on Gospel reliability, oral tradition, eyewitness testimony, and why skeptics don’t simply grant the Historical Reportage Model.

A Hunch Is Not Evidence Part 3 of my response to Than Christopoulos’ Bayesian resurrection argument is now out. Are skeptics assuming naturalism when they assign the resurrection a very low prior? Or are they simply applying ordinary standards of evidence?

Sheng @shengtatsai.bsky.social · 19/06/2026
I expanded on one of the main points from Part 2 video on Than Christopoulos: Christian assumptions do not automatically raise the probability of the resurrection. They make the claim more specific. I also respond to Trent Dougherty’s appeal to narrative probability.

Sheng @shengtatsai.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
Does adding God, incarnation, redemption, and divine purpose really make Jesus’ resurrection more probable? I argue no. It makes the claim more specific, and therefore harder to establish. Part 2 of my critique of Than’s Bayesian apologetics is out now.

Is there a better way to celebrate your birthday than by donating blood? As my birthday approaches, I’m happy to mark the occasion in a way that reflects my humanist values: helping others in a practical, meaningful way. I encourage everyone who is eligible to donate blood.

My new video is out: Bayesian Apologetics Doesn’t Save the Resurrection Part 1 I respond to Than Christopoulos’s use of Bayes’ Theorem and explain why the real problem is not the math, but the assumptions behind the numbers. Your hunch is not evidence.

Hey, Christians, many ancient civilizations banned kidnapping. Does that make them anti-slavery? If not, why do you think citing Exodus 21:16 means the Old Testament is anti-slavery? Just read Ex. 21:7. Your God permits the Israelite fathers to sell their daughters as property.

Than Christopoulos thinks he can boost the credibility of the resurrection claim by using Bayesian analysis. It doesn't work as he wishes. See my Patreon article. Link below.

New video is up! Can atheists trust that the world will still be stable tomorrow without believing in God? Some presuppositional apologists say no. They argue that without God, atheists have no foundation for believing that toothpaste will come out of the tube tomorrow. Yes, really. Toothpaste.

New video is up. Presuppositional apologists often say atheists cannot trust reason, logic, or even their own senses unless they first believe in God. But is that really how anyone comes to trust reason?

Many Christians assume nonbelievers are deliberately rebelling against God. But most people who already believe in a god do not believe in the Christian God. If the Christian God exists, the problem is not just unbelief. An all-powerful God could make his identity much clearer.

Rhett McLaughlin argues that Christians should embrace faith instead of trying to ground Christianity in evidence. I agree with part of that, but I also think many Christians cannot make that move without paying a very high theological and intellectual price.
