You're seeing and hearing things from the players you never (or rarely) heard under Thibs. And when a team is sliding and then comes out flat like they did vs the Mavs, it usually means the players aren't responding to the coaching. #Knicks

#Suns dodged a major bullet last season not trading for him. They'd be in #NBA hell right now if they brought in Jimmy and extended him.

Wouldn't call myself a Thibs apologist but was a big fan of his and what he did for the #Knicks. Got a raw deal getting fired. Never been a Mike Brown fan and thought he was a bad fit, tends to lose his players quickly. That may be happening now. Players look disengaged and disconnected. #NBA

Waited 2 months to see some more games and this has held true. The #Knicks feel lost right now and moreso, disengaged and disconnected. Brown's motion/movement offense hasn't taken and the defense has dropped off significantly. They don't seem to be good at any one thing at the moment. #NBA

Great article here about the #Suns and where they're at right now. Things will get tougher with the upcoming schedule but they're back on the right track a lot quicker than most thought.

Feels like the #Knicks have slowly chipped away at an identity (Thibs, Ju, DDV) that made them different and dangerous. Now they're trying to be an uptempo, skilled finesse team but don't really have the roster for it? If they can't out-tough teams and can't run and shoot, then what are they?

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

Short time as a #Suns player but his impact was huge. A winner everywhere he went. Interested to see what he does next. Would love to see him as a coach.

Biggest W of the season so far. Beat a very good team despite a career awful game from Book and down 8 w/under a minute left. Character win with everyone contributing. #Suns #NBA

Interested to see how things net out w/the #Kings. I respect Christie preaching defense but the roster just isn't built for that style of play. Most interested in seeing what happens with Sabonis.

Under new leadership, whether it's w/ interims Michael Finley & Matt Riccardi or with whomever takes the full-time job, the Mavericks now need to decide their long-term future. Do they keep a 3-8 team together and hope for 2026-27 or trade the vets to build around Flagg/Lively?

So the news is that Nico's set to get fired today. That may seem like accountability but is it? He moves on, probably gets another high paying exec job somewhere but leaves the franchise is purgatory and the fans and remaining staff have to deal with his decision for the next 10 years? #Mavs #NBA

Beal is back in Phoenix with the #Clippers. Not sure what the reception will be...hope it's not too rough with the boos. I was as frustrated as anyone with him but he didn't force his way to the #Suns and all he did was what he's always done. I'd rather see Suns fans ignore him TBH.

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 05/11/2025

Good stuff here and agree w/a lot of it. Oso's a tweener with no semblance of a jumper. I want him to work tho. I wish Ott would use him more in PnR as a roller or even on-ball in PnR. Also wish we could see him as a 4 next to a stretch 5 but we don't have that 5. #Suns

Either the balls or the kickers are juiced. This is crazy

000

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 01/11/2025

The #Knicks are a veteran team that's won, they're battle hardened and know success. They're not a younger team needing to be coached up or a team needing a foundation. That's a big challenge for Brown IMO. This was always going to be a tricky situation with the possibility of going sideways.

010

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 01/11/2025

It's still early but as a famous man once said "It can get late, early" so the #Knicks need to be careful. They can't expect it to just happen but they can't press. And Brown has to convince them his way will work otherwise he'll lose the players and that's a wrap.

000

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 01/11/2025

Not a good showing last night against the #Bulls. Still only 5 games in, Mike Brown wasn't going to wave a magic wand and turn the #Knicks into the 2017 Warriors. Can the players fit the system? Should the coach adjust to the players? The Knicks are trying to reinvent themselves, ain't easy

Bold Prediction: The #Magic are currently 1-4. Should Orlando underachieve this year, changes will be made. I don't think Leon Rose was all-in on firing Thibs. He'll step away from the #Knicks end of year, Wes Williams will take over the FO and Rose will go to the Magic and bring in Thibs. #NBA

Always said around 1988-1991 was pretty bad all around in terms of music, fashion, hair.

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 29/10/2025

Usually, you know who you are after 20 games or so. No need to overreact after 4 games. But this season could be a real work in progress. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

010

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 29/10/2025

Obviously there are going to be growing pains implementing a new system after 4-5 years of Thibs. But concerns are there - do the #Knicks have the roster for that play style? Are the players going to buy-in and work thru the adversity? Fans are fans and want everything to go smoothly....

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 28/10/2025

And if this is the development year, does it make sense playing 32 yr old Royce 46 minutes to try and squeak out a victory against the Jazz? I wouldn't mind the loss if guys like Fleming were getting 20-25mpg and helping with the comeback but Royce and Livers? What's the plan here? #Suns

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 28/10/2025

A little salty about the #Suns L last night. Wonder Boy Ott sticking with that starting lineup put the team in the hole to start, then kept the same lineup to start the 3rd. Too undersized against that giant frontline.

RE: The #Suns - liked what I saw in preseason. MUCH better than anything we saw the past 2 years in terms of effort, hustle, defense and offensive movement and spacing. The effort will win us games alone. I think Book will be on a revenge tour this season.

010

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

Generally, I'm not sure I'm buying the contender status just because of Mike Brown.

000

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

Tough for me to say how the #Knicks will do this year. My gut says it'll be rocky at times (when isn't it) and while the offense might look better I think the defense drops off. Can they form a new identity? Do they have the roster for it? Also see the #Magic and #Pistons getting better.

000

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 21/10/2025

Good stuff here, give it a read! But also- the #Suns will be, at worst, top 18-20 in defense. #NBA

I turned it off in the 4th when it was 19-0?!?!?!

Shels! @shels.bsky.social · 18/10/2025

I think it was an uphill battle for Butler anyway. Goodwin's size and defense probably works better with the current crop of guards on the roster. His offense looks smoother than the last time he was in PHX as well. Liked Butler coming out of college tho, he's an NBA player for sure IMO. #Suns

- Love Oso for his IQ and ballhandling/passing but it still not sure he's a rotational guy yet unless he just needs to thrive in a backup role; would love to see him w/minutes at PF - Fleming might be ready for minutes sooner than later, want to see him with the core group
