I went to the relighting ceremony last night for the Road Runner’s Retreat off Route 66 in Chambless, CA. The sign was recently restored and relit after like 50 years or something. It was really special to see this irl. The neon was so bright against the dark Mojave sky. #NeonSigns #Route66

I wanted to stop at Grand Canyon Caverns specifically for that dinky little dinosaur that I barely caught in this photo. Once I pulled in, I got distracted by the big yellow sign and all of the other dinosaurs around the property. Was a little bummed I forgot him but there he is. #Route66

Frontier Motel & Cafe. Truxton, Arizona Opened 1950s by Alice Wright. Sold to Ray&Mildred Barker. The property closed when Ray passed away in 2011. New owner attempted to renovate, but the project stalled by 2015. The sign was renovated in 2003. #photography #streetphotography #route66 #neonsigns

The lights on the Welcome sign went rainbow yesterday for Pride month. The lights frequently change throughout the month to support various causes. Remember when Vegas was fun and Talk of the Town used swingers to advertise? There were two swings that hung from this sign and the dancers would swing on them to lure in customers. There was also a mechanical bull in the parking lot. #photography #nevada

What I didn't know at the time is that the Starlite has been around since the 40's. The sign had some work done to it between April 2017 and April 2018. The structure itself looks similar, but the fonts have changed. #streetphotography #photography #nevada #neonsigns

Evel Pie is a pizza joint on Fremont that opened at the end of 2016. The space previously housed F. Pigalle (fondue) and Radio City Pizza. The venue is themed after Evel Knievel and set in 1979. #photography #nevada #streetphotography #lasvegas

The Peter Pan Motel is one of the small properties down on (or near) Fremont that fell into decay and disrepair as time passed them by. This one opened in 1963 but was closed by the city in 2006. Their reason was that the property was no longer fit for human habitation. #nevada #photography

The Griffin, 511 Fremont. This bar was opened in Feb 2007 and has been a staple ever since. It is ran by Aaron Chepenik and Jonathan Hensleigh. They also run Nevada H&C Distilling Co, the first distillery in Las Vegas, producing Silver Dollar Vodka & more. #photography #nevada #neonsign

Godbe Mill aka Pioche Consolidated Mill. Originally built in 1891, and the mill was rebuilt in 1893 after a fire, and again in 1929. The aerial tramway was added around 1930 to transport ore from Treasure Hill. The mill closed around 1980. #photography #nevada
