PLEASE I need progressives to stop touting a no vote as doing something!! pure dissent is not enough! what are you doing to provide service, information, resources to your constituents?

The train was PACKED in Chicago, leaving the Beyoncé concert. @cityofchicago.bsky.social was not prepared at all.

It's sickening how common this story is -- and it's completely avoidable! Give every apartment unit its own water account, @cityoftampa.bsky.social. #wateraffordability #tampa #commonsensesolutions www.wfla.com/news/hillsbo...

My Mom called me to talk about the FSU shooting and then made a comment about how this will make more people not want to have kids, because we can’t even keep them safe. I hate that death by guns, along with death by cars, are just a long-accepted reality of modern American life.

Five people are dead, with their families and friends mourning their loss because you’ve consistently failed to to take gun violence seriously. Floridians deserve more than prayers and a Governor who erased progress on gun reform by allowing permitless carry. #FSU

My friend is hiding in a classroom right now. Let’s hope no one is seriously or fatally injured and FSU/Tallahassee can heal from this.

this pretty much sums me up!! on a focused pursuit to #endutilityshutoffs in Tallahassee, Florida, and America.

AI's rapid expansion is producing millions in profit for utilities, at the expense of rural Black communities in South Carolina. @adamlmahoney.bsky.social breaks down how current energy policy exposes these communities to debt & erasure, repeating the failures made under FDR's New Deal. #energysky

Tallahassee Utilities is seriously telling its customers to pay up or freeze if they can't afford their inflated utility bills. Hundreds, if not thousands, of customers could lose power ahead of the incoming winter storm because their too poor to qualify for a payment plan. That's just heinous.

the world is ending as we know it, there's no time to worry about coming off as "abrasive" or "demanding"

The Republicans have kissed and made up, as expected. So I am once again asking why @fladems.bsky.social thought it was a good move to praise the very people stripping millions of Floridians of their rights. We need party leadership focused on protecting us from our oppressors, not praising them.

The nice thing about Bluesky is I can just share my thoughts openly, without feeling like every word is being scrutinized. I’m here to share, learn, and find community. Not fight strangers on the internet for having an opinion they don’t agree with

Since becoming a mother, I’ve been exposed to more conservative media lately and it’s becoming more clear why we’re continuing to lose elections. The Left has a public image problem, and refuses to fix it.

I was breastfeeding earlier and started thinking about the similarities between milk supply and energy supply in America.

🎯 and what does it mean when a leading climate org can unashamedly send out an email with the subject “Where Do We Go From Here?” — the title of MLK’s dying wish for Black liberation — without acknowledging the need to defend the existence of communities threatened by a violent political climate?

out of pocket 😂😂 but also... what if we had an actual modern underground railroad map, featuring Black homes, businesses, and communities exclusively for the sheltering & patronage of Black folks.

tempted to re-read Parable of the Talents but don't want to get traumatized again, especially by those hi-tech slavery shock collars. for those who have read PotT, what did you learn? what should be applied to this current time period? #OctaviaButler #BlackWomenWriters #ParableoftheTalents

is it voting against their interests OR voting for the more comfortable, ""safe"" option to restore power and control to a declining majority

Goodreads is owned by Amazon & there is an AMAZING alternative‼️ The StoryGraph is a black women-owned competitor to GoodReads with better UI in my opinion. When you sign up you can even transfer your data from Goodreads to StoryGraph!

Black women are more than entitled to taking a step back from political and advocacy efforts that don’t directly affect them. And I hate that y’all have taken us for granted for far too long that we’ve reached their collective retrenchment.
