Hello everyone its Sheffield Trans+ Pride in a few days. We meet at TOWN HALL @ 1.30PM We will then march to ENDCLIFFE PARK for a PARTY @ 3.30pm

Know Your Rights
5 Key Messages
No comment
you don’t have to talk to police, whether they’re making small talk or you’re being arressted. it’s best to stay silent or reply with ‘no comment’ (or similar)
No Personal Details
you do not have to give police any personal details such as name and address unless they have cited a power. if you are unsure, ask a legal observer (orange hi vis) or ring GBC on 07946 541 511

Under What Power
if police ask you to do something, ask if you are legally obliged to and ‘under what power (law)?’. if they cannot tell you, you don’t have to do it
No Duty Solicitor
if you are arrested do not use the ‘duty solicitor’ - they are unlikely to have experience at protest law. instead call one of the numbers on the bustcard. if you are under 18 you have the right to have an adult of your choice present.
No Caution
if police offer you a ‘caution’, do not accept it. they are NOT doing you a favour - these go on your criminal record. instead, talk to a lawyer.
