My superpower is that I’m not affected by poison oak. Look at the lovely colours!

My condolences to Dr. Sheila Colla’s family and friends. She was an inspiration from afar and the few times we met. She absolutely motivated me to be more tenacious in my work and I admire so much how she embodies the value of community. Your power and presence will be missed 🐝🐝🐝

Picture looking out across Searsville reservoir, both sides at waters edge bordered with trees and shrubs. Once side is in full sun and other side in full shade. Teh image is taken on a sunny afternoon. No clouds in the blue sky.

I have been trying to keep track of the California fires today. Here are a few resources I like for tracking the fire location, including a couple sites that collate satellite data. Do you have other good resources to share? (1/n) NASA's FIRMS: firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/map/#t:tsd;d...

Reflecting on the amazing year in stewardship at Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve ('Ootchamin 'Ooyakma). Here are some highlights, starting with my proudest professional achievement: bringing good fire back to the land by managing a prescribed burn event! jrbp.stanford.edu/news/good-fi...

It’s our Holiday party, featuring a San Francisco Dusky-footed Woodrat nest cake! This is very upsetting if you knew the lore of woodrats at Jasper Ridge (but I love it!) Happy Holidays! 🎄
