Sheena @sheena.vtuberarchive.moe · 27/11/2024

And here I thought I was over the ending of Heaven burns red Chapter 2. Nope, the first few days of Chapter 3 just made it worse. Ouch 😭

Had my favorite moment in #stalker2 so far. Was exploring, found a building in a swamp, was a bloodsucker nest I guess. Killed 3 and then died to a tripwire grenade. 10/10 Game of the year.

The music in #heavenburnsred is making me want to pick up the guitar for the first time in 3 years. The music is sooooo good.

I should have been prepared for heaven burns red to stab me in the heart at some point since it's the same writer as Clannad and Angel beats. I was not prepared. Wow that hurt 😢

@snuffyy.bsky.social VOD Archive complete. 1.7TB of storage usage, not as bad as I expected.

Sheena @sheena.vtuberarchive.moe · 04/11/2024

The new array is finally alive. 72GB of storage. Now to wait an entire day for the array to sync.

Well the 8 year old motherboard and processor I planned to use in the second storage box are dead. I guess that old i7-6700k decided it wanted to retire, not that I can blame it. It can go have fun the the great datacenter in the sky. 🫡

Alright where the heck did I put my vimrc file? I know it's on one of my 6 drives in my desktop. Why is all my other storage organized except my own desktop?

I guess this is a thing. My new very silly side project to maintain an ever growing Vtuber VOD archive purely for the purposes of disaster recovery. Eventually the site will include the design of the archive and more ramblings from me. #vtubers vtuberarchive.moe

Vtuber VOD Archive

Sheena @sheena.vtuberarchive.moe · 01/11/2024

The VOD archive continues to grow. 8 vtubers in the archive, 938 vods archived to date, and a little over 6TB of storage used. More storage coming online this weekend and automation work started. Most fun I've hard working on something in years. Turns out I didn't hate IT, I just hated my old job

Finally @rainhoevt.bsky.social's VOD archive is complete. Glad more hard drives are arriving the week, the first storage array is almost full.

Sheena @sheena.vtuberarchive.moe · 26/10/2024

Continuing to expand the vtuber vod archive. Finally have enough concurrent downloads to completely saturate the IO of the drives. 80TB of additional storage coming on Tuesday. Will be setting up a website explaining this silly project soon. #vtubers

It's so weird having a feed of art, game devs showing their games, and people being creative. There is no ragebait or stuff I don't care about. This is what the internet should be, it's what it used to be. I missed this.

Sheena @sheena.vtuberarchive.moe · 20/10/2024

Alright Youtube there was no need to put this in my recommendations today 😢 I still miss Sana 😢

Well one of the drives I was going to use for the 2nd storage node is flagged as likely to fail in gnome disk util so guess I need new drives. I'm thinking 6x16TB in #linux software RAID6 with an external write intent bitmap on a spare 2.5 ssd. That would give 64TB of total storage. #storage #backup

Sheena @sheena.vtuberarchive.moe · 19/10/2024

Starting to build the 2nd storage node for my #vtuber vod archive. The first node was a test to figure out how best to organize and download the vods and has 8TB of storage. 2nd node will have 48TB of storage, plenty of room for growth. Eventually I wanna get a tape drive #data #backup #linux

Next addition to the #vtuber VOD archive @rainhoevt.bsky.social. My favorite cringe vtuber. Wonder how long this is gonna take to archive?

Sheena @sheena.vtuberarchive.moe · 18/10/2024

Vtuber vod archive project already underway. @shirahiko.bsky.social and Nihmune's vod channels archived and already eating up 1.6TB of storage. Gonna have to bring more drives online. My goal is to maintain an archive of as many vtubers as possible for disaster recovery. #vtuber #data #backup

Working on a retro PC build and realized this motherboard is older than like half the people on the internet. I bet most people can't fathom memory only running at 100Mhz while modern memory clock rates are in the several GHz range.

I want to relearn how to do wood block prints. I figured the Vtuber Snuffy's logo would be an easy thing to start with. Turned out alright for a first attempt, need to get better on Inking the block.

I still prefer having my music on cassette. Yes the mp3 player would be more portable, but it isn't as fun.
