Actually...I have no problem with West Ham or their supporters, having grown up with a family of them next door and friendly banter with those I've met since. It just fitted well into the opening lines of one of Sir John's most famous odes.

I was just thinking that Stoke were the only club that ever get a meteorological reference when mentioned, but then remembered Brian Moore noted a rainy afternoon at the Den as "Millwall weather" on The Big Match one Sunday. Oldham are sometimes called for having the coldest ground. Any others? 🤔

Whilst wandering around the area before attending a gig at The Corsica Studios recently, I couldn't help but notice that the area almost exclusively caters for students and a large far Eastern clientele, with lots of Chinese restaurants. A lot different than the Aylesbury estate it has replaced.

His mistake was to come back out on stage to remonstrate (shouting & v-signs) with the skinheads after they'd already come off due to the increasing hail of bottles heading stagewards. Finally copping one to the head, he got hauled back off by someone who knew when to call it a day, to big cheers 🙄

Only saw Bad Manners once: a quite notorious gig at The Electric Ballroom in late '79. Doug and the boys were ok. Things didn't work out so well for Echo & The Bunnymen on the same bill. They got bottled off stage by skinheads who'd turned up to see Madness. Ian McCulloch caught one in the face! 😬

Nah, me neither. Had my own thing going on. As everyone else were dying theirs, I already had the black hair that they were trying to achieve, so I stole a march on them. Didn't do the leather jacket: couldn't afford to. Did the creepers, though. Then the 2-Tone thing came and I jumped ship 🙂
