The Mirror Lies

When I look in the mirror do you know what I see?
A face that is mine and yet not the real me
I stand there for hours, thoughts running through my mind
And I can't stop this feeling that's building up inside, I start to cry

Will there ever be a day when I wake up and open my eyes
Look down and see that I've become who I'm supposed to be
My heart can't break forever, there's only so many pieces left
Seems like with every step I take forward, I fall another ten back

Will I ever reach the peak of this mountain I'm climbing?
Will I ever get to see the other side?
A million questions every time I look at my reflection
Just wanna break through and disperse this illusional life
Because the mirror lies

When I take a deep breath and close my eyes
I escape to a world where I can freely fly
I soar through the skies never once afraid of falling
