After what felt like 10 years 🤣 my @home-assistant.io instance is restored. Now performing another backup just to be on the save side 😁 Definitely didn't need that on a Sunday night/Monday morning. Now to start the work day.. #homeautomation

Now we find out if my 3 backups in 2026 will work. I did actually test restore on a VM over the holidays but this is the first time doing my production @home-assistant.io instance on physical hardware. Signs point to an SSD failure on the original system. 😭 #homeassistant #homeautomation

My friend asked me to restore these two pieces of maple furniture from 1942 being handed down to son. Joints were completely rebuilt with some modern techniques "Titebond 3"... Some before and after shots. Happy the way they turned out..

Inside this box is my wifes Cold Plunge pool. I automated it with @home-assistant.io to stop it freezing in the frozen hellscape that's Ontario. It worked flawlessly and wife approval factor is 100% Super happy with it so I'm publishing on GitHub for others to learn.. It's my first public post. 😬

Sometimes I wish I didn't look at my @home-assistant.io dashboard in the morning. I wonder should I just create fake sensor templates for such occasions. Oh Canada winters...you suck 🥶🥶🥶😭 #homeautomation #winter

I posted a while back that my @home-assistant.io instance runs on a Wago Edge Computer www.wago.com/global/edge-... These run home assistant like a dream and I've sourced 10 more at a significantly cheaper price than retail. US and Canada only. Interested? Ping me #homeassistant #homeautomation

I love @home-assistant.io I really do... but wall mounted dashboards are more hassle than they're worth. Random crashes and authentication fails..I'm pretty sure it's not Home Assistant but Android but diagnosing it is a real pain because it's so inconsistent. Anyone else? #homeautomationfails

Ok let's try this again. This one is the most critical automations in my house with wife approval factor being critical! this version will be more stable, I think. Swapped the Shelly 2.5 and Uni out to a Plus2PM with the Plus AddOn and DS18B20 #homeautomation @home-assistant.io #coldplunge

Managed to get my hands on a few Wago Edge Computers a while back www.wago.com/global/edge-... These things are bullet proof, run home assistant and Ubuntu like a dream, 48V, DIN mount, expandable HDD. They're the core of my home automation setup! #homeassistant #homeautomation @home-assistant.io

Decided to try the ChatGPT trend of .. "Based on what you know about me, draw a picture of what you think my life looks like" Certainly interesting returns and a little bit scary!
