Yeah, they really need to print more of these. Rotation of the set is still a year away and so many of the foundational deck cards are Epic rarity in the expensive hard to find base set. My hope is that the key cards get reprinted in the next “survives rotation” set, but it may be too hopeful 😅

I keep thinking about how elegant this card design is in Riftbound and wishing that the design space was explored further. I like the idea of proactive effects to slow down targeted scenarios. Like, I think the decrees would get much less hate if designed like this. riftatlas.com/card/SFD-104

They’ve done promo videos with @goodtimesociety.com which are amazing. Including a tutorial video and a 4 player from scratch intro game. I don’t know why they don’t link to them on the site though. It’s wild.

I find that playing with someone who is actually in discord with me a much better experience. Perhaps that is a better initial approach? If you haven’t heard of them yet, I recommend the RiftBaddies Discord community as a good safe space to start branching out. Hope you get to enjoy soon!

There are also “overnumbered” cards in each set. They may be different art of cards in the same set, or prior sets, and they don’t impact format legality (relevant after rotation in a few years). And subsets of those have a more-rare signature version with the artist signature. (So, yeah. Rarity)

The design team has said that they wanted to make the sealed product interesting for collectors while keeping the base game affordable. So the alternate arts are a way to do that. The champions for legends in the set get alt arts, in addition to any high profile cycles. Last set it was jungle bosses

Seeing these #RBVendetta Riftbound spoilers and as a non-league player I’m baffled about how Riot got around the Zed trademark issues 🤣

Yeah, I’m with you. I ended up making a burner account to feed my Riftbound vice. That said, there are feeds here for Riftbound and I know some of the hosts of the @turnthemside.bsky.social podcast use bsky as their main network. So there are other options, for sure.

I think the @turnthemside.bsky.social group has got the best entry points. The website turnemsideways.gg has a regularly updated tier list, with a sample deck for each Legend. They report on the best ranking deck from each Legend at each major event as well.

🤔 The ABCD bit is just for the starting of turn. In Magic terms, ABC replaces untap and upkeep. But yeah, the separate resource deck has been really refreshing! And the contention of using domain power vs generic energy is still interesting and impactful to play. It’s just not making non-games.

They’ve been very public about the reasoning, and when to expect new art. They wanted to get the game out before they had a full art freelancer pipeline working. Expect to see more unique art from set 3 onwards (which will be used in other games like Runeterra as well)

I find it’s still hard to find casual play outside of 1v1s. I think I still prefer 1v1, but I’ve never had the chance to play 2v2 and I bet very few people have. So it’s hard to say for sure. (The fact that there are official rules for 2v2 sealed and I can’t find a game is criminal)

This is an interesting idea, but I don’t think it’s for me. I want to build a feed that other people can leverage and see a community build around it. I don’t have interest in a specialized, customized, “For You” feed. I also don’t think atproto has a discovery problem. It has a volume problem.
