Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 11/05/2026Thanks for this. It found me at just the right time. You are a gift and I’m glad you’re here. 000
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 27/03/2026Truly one of the greatest writers of our age. Her kids books are straight fire too. 000
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 11/02/2026His performance in Don’t Trust the B* is criminally underrated. This is just so sad. Ugh. Hate this timeline. 010
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 24/12/2025Yeah, definitely don’t want to have that in the camera roll. That’s wild. 000
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 22/11/2025Plus he’ll still be seen as a “west coast elite” to the rest of the country. He’s a bad choice all around. (2/2) 050
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 22/11/2025As a Californian, we can’t stand the guy and I honestly don’t know anyone that likes him/would be excited to vote for him. Especially after the bs he pulled with his podcast. If he can’t even call his own state a slam dunk, he’s a poor choice on the national stage. (1/2) 260
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 14/09/2025I love Gideon as a book, but Moira Quirk is one of the few narrators that I will always listen to at normal speed and will actively seek out other books she does. She’s incredible. 030
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 18/07/2025This is why my son still says prentzel and I have no regrets. 010
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 21/05/2025Me anytime I think about showing my kids The Brave Little Toaster 010
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 11/05/2025Saw Thunderbolts by myself yesterday on my self-care date and in the first shot of Bob, I definitely thought it was Zac Oyama. I had a good time, but I spent the whole morning wishing I had been right and couldn’t get over it. 030
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 10/05/2025a watch maker named Sydney and his mother was a nurse named Verity. This is has got to be a nod to Doctor Who creator Sydney Newman and the shows original producer Verity Lambert. Did anyone else catch that? Am I just slow? Why can’t IMDb ever have cool trivia like that?? 2/2 040
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 10/05/2025Oh my god, we’ve been doing a full watch of Doctor Who (1963-present) and we just reached Family of Blood. I just caught a bit of trivia I’ve missed the million other times I’ve seen this episode before. The Doctor, as John Smith, tells Joan that his father was 1/2 150
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 03/05/2025The Zoom Zoom Zoom song Mazda used would be my contribution. 050
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 24/04/2025Oh my gosh yeah. She’s definitely super abrasive and unlikeable by design. Especially in the first two books, she’s such a passive player in what is happening to her so if you go in looking for a Strong Female Character™️ you’re going to be disappointed. The books held up surprisingly well imho 110
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 24/04/2025(the original trilogy movies were cowards in this respect and I stand by that), but so many “kid” characters were clearly adults. Oh, and Viola Davis was clearly having a great time. But the movie overall just isn’t great. Makes me worried for the Sunrise adaptation. 3/3 010
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 24/04/2025Also, they took away a lot of Lucy Gray’s agency and cleverness. The impact of The Hanging Tree song is so much less because they didn’t explain it properly. I will give them props for using some younger looking kids in the arena 2/3 110
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 24/04/2025So I’m definitely back in my Hunger Games era (I just re-read all the books and watched the movies) and I finally watched Ballad. It’s not my favorite book in the series, but the movie just lacked the nuance that makes it good. 1/3? 220
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 11/04/2025I’m not a lawyer but I would like to represent this kitten because I can tell they’ve never done anything wrong in their life and my client denounces this as slander. 010
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 11/04/2025I guarantee you have a bigger impact on peoples lives than you think. But yeah, therapy is a good place to unpack that. 010
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 04/04/2025I don’t even go here so bear with me. I don’t know if the new Superman movie will be good or not but I do know Nicholas Hoult is a GREAT choice for Lex Luthor. 040
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 16/03/2025I do that too! I’ve been doing it for years and it makes me chuckle every time 030

Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 11/03/2025Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin was a huge hit with my precocious kid when she was four. She’s six now and I found her reading it on her own recently. Fabled Stables series by Auxier if you want to go highly illustrated chapter books. 000
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 10/03/2025The Ogress and the Orphans by Kelly Barnhill! No robots but lots about how small acts of kindness can change the world. 020
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 03/03/2025Just finished the audiobook (bookseller perks for the win!) and it’s a truly stunning piece of work. Still gathering my thoughts but excellent work breaking down the scope of the devastation and the true causes of why this hasn’t been eradicated. Excellent read. 030
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 28/02/2025Ancillary Justice is always my go to, but you might also enjoy Psalm for the Wild Built or Gideon the Ninth which are both excellent but VERY different vibes. Also it’s YA but I found Snowglobe to be fascinating. Oh! Service Model by Tchaikovsky. 040
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 25/02/2025That’s definitely smart. I can never remember to cancel the ones I’m not using 😅 000
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 18/02/2025As a bookseller, I personally use Libro.fm because they support indie bookstores! Library is also a great option.libro.fmBuy audiobooks & support local bookstoresLibro.fm makes it possible for you to buy audiobooks directly through local bookstores. 020
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 06/02/2025Someone I know who worked in local government sent out a notice about a “Pubic Meeting”. 110
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 05/02/2025Omg just noticed I wrote wheat above but it was actually beans. He thought beans were blasphemous. 110
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 03/02/2025Also Pythagoras died because he was in a cult that thought wheat was blasphemous and when the cult was raided, the only way to save himself was to run into a wheat field and he decided he’d rather die than do that. 130
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 03/02/2025You should read Suzie Edge’s book about monarch deaths! 120
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 27/01/2025I saw someone mentioned Gareth Hinds which is one of the best, but I also wanted to mention Mary Pope Osborne (author of Magic Treehouse!) has some good condensed versions for kids. 010
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 23/01/2025You’re welcome! I’ve been a fan of your work for years (truly obsessed with Truly Devious). Congrats again! 000
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 22/01/2025Yes! Congrats! It’s my favorite mystery to hand sell right now (it’s literally on my staff favorites shelf right now) 110
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 21/01/2025I hate having a normal conversation with a rider while driving Lyft and they suddenly take a sharp turn into conspiracy theories. What makes you think I want to know about how you think there are nanoparticles in vaccines designed to kill us?? Do I give off a certain vibe, sir? 110
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 19/01/2025TikTok is gone and the told me with a dalek behind the pop up. Fitting. 122
Ivy @sharpiemyshoe.bsky.social · 12/01/2025While driving for Lyft tonight, I picked up some college freshmen who were talking about being born in 2006. These BABIES were born when I was *in college*.
