No one actually likes Star Fox enough to play one because flight combat and rail shooters bore most people. They remember 64 was a graphical showcase, and that brought iconic moments. The fact that it was a fantastic rail shooter on top of that was irrelevant. Rail Shooters will never sell enough

I like to look at the art style between Fates and Echoes and get whiplash. Apparently it's a bigger deal in Japan that they get "famous" character designers for every game, and that's why the art styles can vary EXTREMELY. Echoes was peak IMO. It's Renaissance Paintings with an anime head.

Scarlet and VIolet is good on the distractions, but not too good on "landmarks to navigate towards major POI objectives. BOTW is the peak of it. THey released documents on how finely they crafted the sight-lines. And then they CRAMMED it with "good" distractions like Shrines and camps and Koroks.

This Phenomenon: Very popular games that go long enough without a sequel are doomed to have the sequel be panned by a loud minority. 50+ Hours is a healthy playtime for any game. A great sequel to a game most played for 50 hours is going to fail those who played the same game for 1000 hours.
