I made sure to list every volunteer activity on my CV. I also started on my cover letter that I had been out of the workforce because I was a family caregiver. BTW, I do love my career and I believe that motherhood gave me an edge.

I believe that in New Mexico, every adult is a mandated reporter. If any adult knew or had a reasonable suspicion of the abuse, they were required to report it. This could open a door to prosecution.

GEO has no scruples. When I worked in corrections, they tried to get me to work for them, doing the same job for almost half the pay. When one of my peers, a GEO employee, got injured on the job, he had to fight to get them to cover his medical expenses.
