With over 530+ species of sharks in 8 different orders, it’s time we distinguish between habitats, behaviors, sizes, diets, and even use of their sensory systems One size does not fit all; acquiring the correct knowledge, will change our distorted perception of sharks.

We will have new CSIRO data in May next year I will wait for the new stock assessment I've literally been inundated with hundreds and hundreds of letters saying that we need to protect our apex predators There are serious issues if you take out apex predators out of an ecosystem

It’s understood three shark-fishing drum lines are in the water this morning from a boat just off City Beach, where the decomposing whale remains. The DPIRD confirmed today it is taking the opportunity to do some tagging while the sharks are lingering close to the beach.

Stay out of the water. Tagged sharks have pinged the receivers over night along the coast from Floreat through to Cottesloe attracted by the whale at City Beach. Its due to be removed today.

Data released by the NSW Gov showed 1200 shark detections by drones in July and August this year. Increased drone coverage is showing us sharks that have always been around. Sightings and beach closures mean the system is working.

Craig Moss developed and owns Eco Shark Barrier here in WA. Installed at Coogee Cottesloe Esperance and Sorrento. Council didn't want to pay for the repairs so it was removed in 2020. The barrier was installed to 40m off shore. The death occurred at 15m off shore. www.ecosharkbarrier.com.au

If you want to go to Sorrento Beach and protest - Fisheries Minister Jackie Jarvis has ordered the shark believed to be responsible to be destroyed. The City of Joondalup beach closure covers almost 12km of coastline from Marmion to Iluka and will be reassessed at midday on today

Reports fisheries to target shark responsible for death at Sorrento. That action is a placebo to make people feel safer when that shark could be hundreds of km's away now. Randomly killing a white shark for media clicks is not a solution as we have seen in previous attempts.
