We wanted to take a minute to share our love for our Sonnet Fest 2026 collaborators, who featured a few familiar faces! Photos by Sam McClenaghan Sonnet Fest was produced collaboratively by Creative Greensboro, Scrapmettle, little independent theatre, and Shared Radiance.

Brycen Inglesby opens to Scrapmettle Sonnet Fest performance. He takes. on the role of the emcee of a beauty pageant, and holds a green and pink toy microphone, as well as a clipboard with the number "100" written on the back of it. The contestant stand in a line behind him, as well as Ellen Summers, who stands off to the side watching.

Tomeka Collins sings a sonnet as she sits and holds a periwinkle mesh scarf. A cane leans against the back of the chair. Tomeka is located near the end of the tunnel, and a wall of stones stands behind her.

The little independent theatre Sonnet Fest 2026 cast circles up around a metal stool holding papers. The sun shines down on them as they come together. The whole cast is there, but we can only clearly see the faces of Lee Pederson, Mike Brannon, "D" Coris, and Liam Richardson.

The Creative Greensboro Sonnet Fest 2026 cast performs an ensemble sonnet. They stand in a "V" formation with their arms outstretched on either side. Luke Schmura stands at the point of the V. To Luke's left behind him are Beckett Eli, Fritz Chesnutt, and Erica Wrencher. To Luke's right and behind him are Danielle Block, Owen Kenneth, Che Denman-Weir, and Todd Fisher.

This is a collage with a black background. From left to right starting at the top, there is a smooth rock, a cat fight, a gym, teacher, whistle, a pink, V, and a picture of the definition of the word muse in the dictionary. On the next row, we have a painted mask, the lifecycle of a butterfly, a pencil, and Eeyore. In the next line, we have a blue scarf, a Miss America winner being crowned, a bunch of people lying on the ground, and punch the monkey. At the bottom, we have a pirate, looking through a telescope, an orange outline of a runner, and a paint pallet.

Our BARDS explored Costume Design recently! Thank you to Sarah for sharing your experience and creative perspective, and thank you Andrew for playing a mannequin. www.sharedradiance.org/education

Sarah presents a PowerPoint on costume design in a dark room. We can see the outline of Sarah, who is walking as she explains something, as well as the outlines of the students listening.

Andrew, a white man in his 20s with glasses and curly brown hair, stands with his arms outstretched to either side. The BARDS wrap fabric around him as they design a costume.

This picture is another angle of the students costuming Andrew. They are further along in the process. The costume has become bulkier and now includes purple plastic and white tissue paper. One of the BARDS places something on Andrew's head, while another kneels to create a belt.

The BARDS pose with Andrew in his final costume. From left to right, the first student smiles, the second holds out a small spool of ribbon, Andrew poses in his costume, and the third student holds up a Sharpie, some kid scissors, and a pencil. Andrew's costume appears to be that of a superhero.

Surprise! We have a few more photos from the Romeo & Juliet performance at High Point University. Check out these awesome shots from our recent production. It was so hot several of the costumes were modified, but we still had a wonderful time! Photos by High Point University Staff

Sampson, played by Andrew Altmann, addresses the audience. In this case, we do not see the audience because he addresses the camera directly. Sampson shakes his fist as he yells. He wears glasses, a black cord with a charm hidden under his shirt, and a loose white shirt. He stands in an outdoor amphitheater.

Tybalt, played by Scooter Mistretta, jumps down from a platform in combat with Benvolio, played by Xavier Devault. Tybalt's arms are outstretched with his hands balled into fists. Tybalt's knees are fully bent, and he looks down. Benvolio's back is turned towards us, but the movement of his hair and posture seem to suggest he is moving in where Tybalt will land. Benvolio wears a white shirt, an embroidered vest, and black pants. Tybalt wears glasses, a white shirt with red embroidery, black shorts, and black shoes.

Mercutio, played by Casey Martin, makes a point. He stands and holds out his left hand while pointing his index finger. Mercutio wears a black lace mask and a frilly white shirt. The photo is tilted slightly to the left. Trees loom to the left of Mercutio, while the sky, a tower, a statue, and a black curtain blocking the first three things in this list are behind him to his right.

Juliet, played by Lilah Vanke, and Romeo, played by Aubrey Scruggs, meet for the first time. They are already in an embrace. Juliet wears a gold chain headpiece, short, dark green velvet dress and cream corset belt. Romeo wears a white button down shirt, a black vest, a black belt around the vest, and khaki pants. They both wear black lace masks.

Two party-goers, Roberts and Mike, volunteer for some audience participation for Pyramus & Thisby. Roberts wears a dog shaped hat and Mike uses a cane. They both look amused.

ShakesCollage recently performed at the High Point Library. Special thanks to The Friends of the High Point Public Library, Mary Sizemore, and Jonathan Furr for making this happen! To book ShakesCollage, email sherri@sharedradiance.org

Camille, Rachel, and Joey perform the opening of ShakesCollage. From left to right, Camille stands and smiles, Rachel wraps her left arm around Camille while extending the other and popping her hip, and Joey kneels on one knee. Rachel and Camille look down on Joey in amusement while Joey seems to be questioning his life's choices. They all wear Shared Radiance shirts and black pants or jeans. They are on the outdoor stage at the High Point Library.

Sherri joyfully plays the guitar along the steps to the outdoor stage. In addition to the ShakesCollage uniform, she wears a blue headband, blue and yellow beaded earrings, a black cardigan, and black tennis shoes. Her guitar is white with brown accents and it's strap features an embroidered sun pattern.

Camille, Joey, and Rachel perform a scene from Hamlet. Camille plays the Ghost, Joey plays Hamlet, and Rachel plays Horatio. Hamlet urges Horatio to swear to secrecy on his sword while the Ghost oversees the matter. The stage is made of stone and the wall behind them is made of cement blocks that lead up to windows featuring colorful symbols representing the arts.

Rachel performs a scene as Juliet. Her signifier is a headband featuring sun rays jutting out and a sprig of flowers. She stands holding on to an iron rail in front of her. Behind Rachel is a stone wall that comes up to her waist, followed by an iron fence. She seems conflicted.

A glimpse behind the scenes of our recent production of Romeo & Juliet. What a gift to work with such a wonderful team. Photos by Shane Garrettson Costumes by Martha Merritt Romeo & Juliet was funded in part by the 2025 - 2026 Creative Greensboro Community Partnerships Grant.

Kelly, a woman in her early thirties with long dark hair in a braid and glasses, and Lark, a young woman with dark curly hair, bangs and light eyes, sit casually in Studio 609 while looking at the camera. Kelly sits in the flash of the camera while Lark sits in darkness. Kelly holds out her hand closest to the camera, with a big open mouth smile. Lark holds out her hand closest to the camera in a fist, as if displaying something on her arm. There does appear to be a tattoo there, but it's not aligned for visibility toward the camera. Lark's face carries a neutral expression. Costume racks and actors surround them.

Andi, a person with long brown hair tied up in a ponytail and glasses, sits at a table at the Back Table. They smile and lean onto the left hand with their elbow propped up on the table. They wear a fitted white blouse with long, sheer sleeves. Several things lay on the table before them, including coffee, a notepad, a pen, a book, a phone, and a water bottle.

Sarah, a white woman in her mid to late twenties with short, purple hair and rainbow glasses, poses for a picture with a smile. She wears a black lace top featuring straps across the neckline. The background is out of focus. Sarah seems friendly.

Xavier, a person with short, dark hair, metal-framed glasses, and a light skin tone, and Lark pose together. They lean into each other and smile with their tongues sticking out ever so slightly. Xavier wears their Benvolio costume, featuring a white shirt and floral embroidered vest. Here Lark wears a dark purple dress with a floral print. She holds a wallet, phone, and bottle in her right arm. The mood is a little silly and very fun.

"God join'd my heart and Romeo's . . ." Romeo & Juliet Photos by Shane Garrettson Costumes by Martha Merritt Tickets: www.sharedradiance.org/tickets Play Your Part: www.sharedradiance.org/the-producersdonate

Juliet, played by Lilah Vanke, sits on top of a small set of double sided stairs as she looks up to the heavens. She seems contemplative. She wears a chain headpiece interwoven into a braided hairstyle done up, a breezy, long sleeve, floral shirt under a knee-length velvet dress, a small corset around her waist, and beaded open toe sandals. This photo, and all of the subsequent photos, are in black and white and take place indoors at Studio 609.

Romeo, played by Aubrey Scruggs, revels in his newfound love. He stands, closes his eyes, and opens his arms wide. He wears a coat with a fla around the shoulders, a collared shirt, a vest, and a belt. Everything behind Romeo, including Juliet, who sits on her stairs as though to suggest a balcony, is out of focus.

Juliet giggles while talking to Romeo, her hand covering her mouth. The perspective of this photo is from over Romeo's shoulder, making him out of focus. Juliet stands at a higher level than him. Smaller details become more visible, such as some stud earrings and a ring Juliet wears.

One of the Fates, played by Natalie Jones, sits and looks over her shoulder. Her arm farthest from us rests on her knee. She is relaxed yet watchful. This Fate wears a veil made of delicate lace and flowy, asymmetrical dress, as all the other Fates in this production do.

A close up candid portrait of Romeo, played by Aubrey Scruggs, centers him from the chest up as he looks to the right. He wears a dull red coat, a white collared shirt, and a black vest. Romeo has short, dark, curly hair, deep brown eyes, and a dark skin tone. Behind him, the inner walls of the venue, called the Back Table, are out of focus. His facial expression is calm yet piqued.

The Fates, played by (front row) Candace Hescock, (back row, left to right) Sherri Raeford, Natalie Jones, and Kaitlin Lumpkins, take their place for the opening of the show. They surround a small set of double sided stairs while turned towards each other as if to hide as much as possible until it's time to begin. The Fate played by Natalie Jones crouches on top of the steps, preparing to stand up. They all wear flowy, asymmetrical, white gowns and white veils made of delicate lace. Two large windows framed by curtains are behind them.

Gregory, played by Dominic Pitocco, and Sampson, played by Andrew Altmann, taunt Abraham, played by Andi Schroemer. Gregory stands on top of the stairs and leans over with his arms crossed while making a pouty face. He wears a short burnt orange tunic, a faux fur vest, dark pants, and dark shoes. Sampson stands to the right of Gregory with one foot on the stairs and one foot on the ground, slanting towards Abraham to bite his thumb. He wears glasses, a white shirt, a faux fur vest, light brown pants, and dark shoes. Abraham stands across the way to the right with his arms crossed, relaxing back into a position exuding incredulity and annoyance. He wears glasses, a fitted, frilly white shirt, black pants, and black boots.

Tybalt, played by Scooter Mistretta, rides on the back of Benvolio, played by Xavier Devault, in a fight. The photo is blurred as they run through the audience. Tybalt's hands are clasped together as he reaches around Benvolio's chest and grits in anger, looking up to the left. He wears clear-rimmed glasses, gold and green earrings, a white shirt, and a black vest with red lining. Benvolio closes his eyes in pain and perseverance. He wears a white button down shirt and a floral embroidered vest. A lavender light splashes against the white walls behind them.

Benvolio, played by Xavier Devault, stands outside looking through a large window into Studio 609. Their hand and nose presses lightly against the glass, and the window is foggy. They wear a white button down shirt, an embroidered floral vest, and dark pants.

Tybalt, played by Scooter Mistretta, challenges someone outside of the frame off to the right to a fight. They thrust their chest forward as they take a step and throw their arms back to either side. They wear a white shirt with red embroidery evocative of traditional Hungarian clothing, a black vest with red lining, baggy black pants, and glasses.

A Capulet Servant, played by Andrew Altmann, tries to decipher a guest list written on a crumpled piece of paper. He wears a cream colored shirt with rolled up sleeves, a black and gray vest with silver buttons, and light brown pants. The photo is tilted.

Juliet, played by Lilah Vanke, and Lady Capulet, played Ellen Summers, hold hands while looking at someone outside the frame off to the left. They both wear slight smiles but something in their faces betrays discomfort. Juliet wears a small cream corset, a dark green velvet dress over a floral blouse, and a gold headpiece with her hair put up in an intricate braided style. Lady Capulet wears a breezy dress with a pattern featuring birds and gold jewelry.

We are proud to present Natalie Jones, Candace Hescock, Kaitlin Lumpkins, & Sherri Raeford as Fates in Romeo & Juliet. www.sharedradiance.org/tickets www.sharedradiance.org/the-producersdonate Romeo & Juliet is funded in part by the 2025 - 2026 Creative Greensboro Community Partnerships Grant.

Natalie Jones is a multifaceted performer with a background in theater, modeling, and voice acting. She earned her Theater Arts degree from Appalachian State University in 2023. Since graduating, Natalie has worked with major retailers such as Dillard’s and Macy’s as a model, and spent over two years as the voice of Ashley Furniture, recording more than 500 commercials. She has also performed in multiple stage productions and recently appeared on set for a full-length feature film set to be released in August. Natalie continues to grow her career across both on-screen, on-stage, and voice performance.

Candace Hescock has been performing with Shared Radiance now for a few years. Some of her credits include The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Tempest, and Othello. She also has experience as a teaching Artist with their educational troupe, ShakesCollage, in 2024. Before then, she trained and gained experience performing classical, non-classical, and musical theatre in Massachusetts, California, and other parts of NC, including the Raleigh area as well as the coast. When not performing the Bard, she enjoys teaching private singing lessons, advocating for inclusivity in the Arts, and spending time with her family. She is very thankful and excited to share this production with the community.

Kaitlin Lumpkins is thrilled to be joining a Shared Radiance production for the first time! A native of Greensboro, Kaitlin grew up doing theater with City Arts Drama Center, Weaver Academy for the Performing Arts, and other local productions, and after moving back to the city last summer, she is excited to go back to her cultural roots. Before moving, Kaitlin lived in Fayetteville, where she was a part of the Cumberland Choral Arts community choir, served in productions with Cape Fear Regional Theater, and worked as a high school English teacher and speech and debate coach. In addition, Kaitlin is part of a digital community called Social Shakespeare, which has allowed her to indulge her love of the bard through monthly staged readings.

Sherri Raeford, the Founding Artistic Director of Shared Radiance, is thrilled to take on the multiple roles of Lady Montague, Apothecary, and Fate in Romeo and Juliet. A lover of "all things theatre," Sherri has shared her passion for the arts for over 30 years. Her obsession with Shakespeare began during summer immersive programs with UNCSA-based Shakespeare Lives, which took her to Shakespeare’s Globe in London during the summers of 2003 and 2005 for life-changing theatrical experiences. Her favorite acting moment occurred while portraying Lady Anne in a short one-act of Richard III in a grove at Gosden House School in Guildford, England. Some of her favorite roles over the years include the Duchess of York in Shared Radiance’s Richard III and Gertrude in Hamlet. She is deeply grateful for her loving husband, the life she leads, and her fabulous friends.
