I've come to the conclusion that the Mega Man Legends games are going to get remade, Every Legacy Collection finds some way to 1-up the one before it but Star Force is going so specifically insane the only way to 1-up is to remake tbh. HD Textures, entire series OST remixed and more to come goodness

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac rocks, Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection is a dream come true, and both of those franchises in Sonic Crossworlds, Bomberman watching everyone else have fun while he's stuck with lazy cash grabs and crappy Konami cameos, the last piece of the puzzle is to help him out.

Its really arrogant of me to say this but I will anyway I'm positive I'm a bigger Mega Man fan than 95% of the people doomposting about a lack of new games, I want one too but I can still appreciate the continued insane efforts put into the Legacy Collections and a fun Kart Racing appearance.

The models in Super Bomberman R were roughly ported over and cleaned up a bit for Super Bomberman R2 but many of their finer details were lost or suffered in the process, probably most notable with Magnet and Sexy Bomber who ended up with contorted proportions and bugged textures respectively.

It's hard for me to be upset about a game that lets me fight as stylishly as all those newgrounds sprite fights I used to watch back in the day. Yeah I wish it was harder and maybe a bit faster but I come back to this more than any modern beat em up atm.

I love Neon I've loved it for years but I recently played through it with a friend and yeah i still love it but like i realized this is the type of parody game that would have gotten annoying had they kept going in that direction, even with run cancels in Neon you can't express yourself like DDG.

Lastly it makes sense to go in a cartoony direction for Bomberman's aesthetic given the designs, but why not extend that to the gameplay visuals, what on earth did he mean the SNES games were realistic? this series shines in 3D when it just tries to look like a living cartoon, go in that direction.

Bomberman IS blatantly heroic in the majority of games in the series, including the very SNES games Okamura claims to have grown up with, Its weird he brought up a possible anime adaptation with this approach too, Bomberman has had two animes and neither depict the series in the light he describes.

This is the most underrated beat em up from the last 5 years at least, so much player expression found in that tag mechanic and currently 18 fighters to mix and match between and 6 more on the way that'll bring the roster to 24, massive roster for a beat em' up.

Hudson Soft's Dual Heroes, this game has a reputation as one of the worst titles on the N64 and a terrible fighting game, but I enjoyed it as a kid and revisiting it as an adult I found it completely competent even has a few unique mechanics and gimmicks, It's no Tekken or VF but not everything is.

It was called Bomberman Story in Japan but y'know the multiplayer is the series bread and butter so when it came time for localization Activision(yes them lol) went with Tournament for some reason, and changed the box art to reflect battle game instead of the game's story.

it remains to be seen of course but their designs were perfect in Double Dragon Gaiden as well as really everything about how that game went about the series lore, I have no idea why Revive settled on an art/character design direction as unrecognizable and generic as possible but Arc be Arc I guess.

Yeah ArcSys decided to give it the "Gaiden" branding that's oft associated with spin-offs in Japan because it's pretty different gameplay wise but yeah I still think the game is the best thing to happen to DD for numerous reasons I can't fit into one reply. Really excited about the 8 new characters!

No problem! I have a long history with and a softspot for the Bomberman series and actually researched and wrote for a lot of these characters for a fan game, so I think about them more than a normal person typically would, the series is a bit messy so I don't blame you for any confusion anyway.

Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons was my favorite surprise of 2023. It finds a wonderful sweet spot between the depth of SoR4 and the simplicity of TMNT SR, it's one of today's best beat em' ups and I should talk about it more cuz I'm stupidly happy and excited about the DLC news yesterday!

Was a good bit ago but I used both of Fangamer's plush-power-up packs and accidentally gave Pink Bomber a rad new look that works for both Summertime and Winter. Felt like sharing in the spirit of Youtooz doing whatever they're doing with #Bomberman plushies and oddly quoting this very character.
