Submitting a short story to a competition today. First time in a long while I’ve done that 🤙 I can’t share it till the results are posted but I’ll be sharing it here after

Great! I’ve been a writer forever but just a hobbyist 🤙 told myself I was going to do it this year and got a little obsessive lol You should do it!

ShankedDG 🤙 @shankeddg.bsky.social · 13/03/2025

Indiana… I’ll see if I can get my work to throw in $1k. It’s a stretch since it’s so far away, but maybe!

Someone donate $10k to to my not for profit county disc golf club so we can finish installing this course that the #1 course designer in North America said "there's no reason this property couldn't facilitate an FPO Worlda or US Masters level course" -John Houck (More info below)

Shoot me a DM! Also curious, what is your genre of choice? If I had to guess, historical fiction or fantasy? 🤙

Hey folks! This is the section of highway right by Lazybrook Kresge Memorial Disc Golf Course!!! Going to keep it clean for y’all!!! Pretty excited to help out the community in any way we can!!!

Lmao 😂 well if you’re interested, hit the DM!

Check, check, and check 😂 Parroting what I told Bystander, I’m NOT looking for editing (that’s a paid gig) just someone who likes to read and unafraid to tell me I suck lol

Not asking for editing! Simple notes, mostly “this sucks, this was okay” type beats. Probably in 2-3 chapter chunks after I’m “done” editing them. I’ve read it so many times it all feels like garbage now lol

ShankedDG 🤙 @shankeddg.bsky.social · 05/03/2025

Finished my book (again)! Looking for a couple horror/thriller fans that have a good eye for what’s good/bad that would want to beta read 🤙

That makes a lot of sense and I hate it. It’s like imposter syndrome x10

ShankedDG 🤙 @shankeddg.bsky.social · 19/02/2025

It’s so weird to me that I feel comfortable talking about something I’m bad at (disc golf) but incredibly uncomfortable talking about something I’m good at (writing)

AI detectors are garbage. I just typed a generic scene into ZeroGPT (in the WYSIWYG editor, mind you) and it came up 50% AI. If you have any sense of prose or functional sentence structure, it'll accuse you of AI. That sucks. If you have flowery descriptions? AI, bud

84k final first draft. In edits now (I’ve rewritten 3 entire chapters 🙃) I’ve “finished” my first full length novel. Way ahead of schedule

I’m annoyed. This novel I’m writing is likely my best work yet (not a huge sample size tbf) and it’s *so cliche*, and hardly my preferred genre I started writing it to make a point and now the first draft is almost done. Editing will take a while but… my goal was to be done in October. Oops?

ShankedDG 🤙 @shankeddg.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

Nothing worse than cranking out some spreadsheets with a migraine. I’m ready to call it a day

ShankedDG 🤙 @shankeddg.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

Just hit 60k today! There’s a wall coming soon tho 😂 I appreciate the hype!

ShankedDG 🤙 @shankeddg.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Hi dynamic! Still putting with wardens despite it all. Glad to see you on bluer skies 🤙

ShankedDG 🤙 @shankeddg.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

71% done with the first draft. Broke thru some writers block and excited to continue cranking through it!

Fair play! lol I feel that, I wouldn't participate if I was limited to throwing forehands

100

How dare you (I’m sure she forgives you)

Heck yeah! There’s a tournament Sunday here, I’m hoping I can play. Just don’t know if I’ll have the extra bunce. And haven’t re-upped on my membership yet

120

Hope you have a speedy recovery! Nice wordplay btw lol

Oh no! Lol I assume you’re not playing the Spitout this Sunday? I haven’t decided either way yet

100

Crunchy is a horrible word to describe that. Thank you 😂 Well I hope it gets better. I managed to get out of the mechanic industry with my shoulders in tact, was one of my fears for a long time
