I am rooting for the White Sox, but I appreciate that both Cleveland pitchers thus far have had a strong sock game #BaseballSky

#MetsSky This clip is fascinating because it shows Gary Carter celebrating on the field at Shea Stadium while on a different team! Growing up in the late-‘80s there were various reasons to hate the other NL East teams, but I never really loathed the Expos unless they beat the Mets. Was that just me?

I am praying that when MLB expands to 32 teams it moves to four 8-team divisions, AL/NL East and West (the four division winners get first-round playoff byes, with the remaining top four teams in each league playing the Wild Card round), and the Central Divisions will live on only in our memories.

It is weird to me that Atlanta chose to wear Phillies-colored jerseys for this game.

One of these streaks ends tonight: Phillies: lost all 9 prior playoff series after losing Game 1 (COL 0-4 only other team without such a series win) Braves: lost 6 straight winner-take-all postseason games, 3rd-longest streak all time (2000-19 OAK 9, 1997-2022 CLE 8)

Regarding what Bob Costas just said about how there should be re-seeding after the Wild Card round, he is wrong because baseball chaos is the best, and if the bracket happens to add to that chaos, so be it! ⚾️

An underrated part of playoff time is learning about all of your baseball grudges. Some of them make sense, some of them don’t, but I wish you happy hating

Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.

A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

I also hope that tomorrow’s game doesn’t get rained out, and am wondering what the makeup plan is if it does. Both teams have off Monday, so could play then, but normally makeup games are scheduled for the afternoon because of travel, which would probably mean a tiny crowd for the ceremony. #MetsSky

I’m excited to have two poems in the new issue of Frogpond! 🐸

A poem by the poster, “to-go coffee the war blaring on the airport TV”

A poem by the poster, “St. Paddy’s Day no green on the magnolia yet”

The cover of the spring/summer 2026 issue of Frogpond, with a painting of a hybrid green bird surrounded by large pink feathers. A pair of rainbow-colored flip-flops is below the feathers. The cover’s background is a light pink paisley print. The journal title is in black.

I'm glad that Gloria Steinem existed, and I'm glad that feminism exists because we all need it (hopefully in a more intersectional and sex-positive form than she may have espoused, but you get my point--she helped to plant important seeds). R.I.P.

This is a must-read article about how MLB players are feeling about the labor situation. It seems that the union is doing a good job getting its messaging out to all its members. Remember that if games are missed it will be the owners' fault. #BaseballSky #MetsSky
