Nic Cage:

He continued: “How do you survive AI? Amazon is a very AI friendly company to the tune of 50 billion dollars invested to OpenAI. I am not an AI friendly actor. I didn’t sign the waiver to let them use AI on Spider-Noir. It’s kind of like I’m probably not going to be working with that studio again. But that’s OK. So I got to get with these young directors who are Gen Z and they’re going at it their own way, whether it’s through the YouTube culture or whatever it is. They’re doing it from scratch and by hand. I want to get with that.”

There's even an episode in the 90s-2000s Batman cartoons where he monologues to Alfred about how he understands tge appeal and feel and power of using a gun; but that there's a definitive line he refuses to cross regarding using it to execute justice.

001

Shane Howling🍁❄️🐻‍❄️🦌 @shanehowlling.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Let's just be clear about something here: Batman's "One Rule" is No Guns, not No Killing. If you go by the comics, they waffle back and forth between these two ideologies; but the canonical fact remains, Batman will bring anyone to justice (however that looks), so long as he doesn't use a gun.

A Wes Anderson style of doing the creation of Arda, or having Guillermo Del Toro doing Beren & Luthien fighting during the first death of Sauron and werewolves. That would be epic!

Dont get me wrong, I still love the Hobbit and think WB screwed that up the most. I just think for sustainability without saturating the market like Marvel has done; would be better to explore other mediums and passionate writers/directors who want the material to shine. Just imagine it:

Shane Howling🍁❄️🐻‍❄️🦌 @shanehowlling.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Sooner and easier than doing the fully cgi orcs thing that The Hobbit trilogies tried to do. Also, you can have actor retention like getting the Fellowship members to be a narrator per film so its like the LOTR characters are telling the tales to the audience.

100

Shane Howling🍁❄️🐻‍❄️🦌 @shanehowlling.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

This is my only LOTR hot take that I haven't voiced to anyone: I think Newline Cinema should continue to do the Legendarium of Tolkien's works in various media's like Anime to tackle The Silmarillion and The Middle Tales. WotR was amazing, and i think anime can have the suspension of disbelief...
