A person on tumblr asked me if my sharkfolk still have any relation to certain parasites like the Ommatokoita, the one that blinds the Greenland sharks. I was inspired to illustrate these artefacts from the Longevian civilization, which has the Greenland shark as its ancestor! 🦈✨ #Shark

A clay tablet adorned with gold and blue paint, depicting an ancient tradition of the Longevian sharkfolk.

The scene shows the tradition linked to the "Plague of Tears", a parasite that affected centuries-old elders, granting them the gift of "sense" of the vital energy present in the liquids of living creatures.

Other members of the community bring seedlings of wild plants so that a great elder can sense their vital energies and discover potential healing properties for the creation of natural medicines.

The tri-lunar representation suggests that the gift is strengthened at the apogee of the three moons. The tablet is very old, dating back to the pre-departure era of Luna, the third oldest moon on the planet.
