On August 6, 1945, many people in Hiroshima suffered severe burns from the atomic bombing. Desperate for water, some made their way to the rivers. Exhausted and badly injured, many died there. Standing here, thinking of them, I can’t stop the tears. May this never happen again.

I came to Hiroshima to learn about peace. At first, the futuristic city excited me. Then I visited the museum. Everything changed. That night, looking over Hiroshima’s lights and thinking about what I’d learned, I couldn’t stop the tears. 🕊️ link shadows-remain.printify.me/product/2960...

Hiroshima oysters have been farmed for over 450 years. They survived the atomic bombing—and kept going. Today, farmers face mass oyster die-offs and nutrient shortages. Still, they keep working—quietly and steadily. AFTER THE FLASH. shadows-remain.printify.me/product/2960...

We came from Germany and rode one of Hiroshima’s A-bomb survivor streetcars. My son didn’t understand its history, but he loved the retro tram. Now he wants to drive it someday. May his dream become a bridge of peace. 🕊️ Shop here👇 shadows-remain.printify.me/product/2960...

The other day, I watched In This Corner of the World on TV. Then today, this little kitten came wobbling toward me and clung to my leg. Maybe this is what they call fate. “All right. From today on, you’re family.” 🐱 Shop via my profile.

My school introduced me to a peace volunteer activity, so I joined with pure intentions. 🕊️ Then I arrived… and everyone there was a cute girl. My wish for peace is sincere—but my thoughts may not be entirely pure anymore. What a wonderful time to be alive. 😳✨ Shop via my profile.

I came from the U.S. to Hiroshima, Japan, and learned about hibakujumoku—trees that survived the atomic bombing. I visited one, and I can’t quite put my feelings into words. To me, this living tree feels like a prayer—a prayer for quiet, lasting peace. Shop via my profile.

At Honkawa Elementary School Peace Museum in Hiroshima, I learned that 400 children were exposed to the atomic bomb. Grief? Anger? I can’t name it. I’m still deeply unsettled. 広島の本川小学校平和資料館で、当時400人の児童が被ばくしたと知りました。悲しみか、怒りか。言葉にできない感情が湧き上がり、今も胸がもやもやします。 Shop via my profile./お店はプロフから。

My professor caught me submitting an AI-written paper. He said careless thinking and easy choices might lead to tragedies—even war. But he liked my shirt, so if I help at the Peace Hiroshima Okonomiyaki stall next week, I’ll get the credit. Probably lucky? 😽 Shop via my profile.

The thought of that tragedy happening in a city like this terrifies me. So many lives, dreams, and ordinary days could disappear in an instant. Is it really okay for the world to remain as it is? Shop via my profile.

The Atomic Bomb Dome is preserved so we never forget what humanity did. Yet even now, people continue building and stockpiling nuclear weapons. Standing here, I can’t help asking: what are human beings, really? Shop via my profile.

I watched *Oppenheimer*. He was a central figure in the Manhattan Project, which developed the world’s first atomic bombs. If there had been no war, could all that suffering have been avoided? Why does my heart feel so heavy tonight? Shop via my profile.

Dad was assigned to MCAS Iwakuni this spring, so Mom and I moved to Japan with him. This summer, we prayed at the Atomic Bomb Dome, then stopped for our first Carp game. Mom loves Akiyama, so we were first inside! Dad says this is what peace looks like. ⚾🕊️ Shop via my profile.

I’ve never been caught up in a war, but my great-grandmother worked in a factory building fighter planes during wartime. I build cars instead—and honestly, I’d much rather make vehicles than weapons. Now, if only they’d raise my pay a little… 🚗🔧

I tried a peace dance outside a U.S. military base. ✌️ The guard looked away and endured it. I kept dancing. “Ma’am, you need to move away from the gate.” So I danced away before security arrived. 💃💨 Good kids, don’t copy me! Shop in profile.

From a rooftop, I shout into this vast city. Does my voice reach anyone? Just one person—that’s enough. If it reaches even one heart, I’ll shout again this year, on that one day each August. NO MORE GENBAKU.
