I'm in Michigan, and found this little dude in my office a couple months back. I see them fairly often in the summer here, but I'm not sure what their range is

This part is baffling. Mary Shelley and Jane Webb wrote early sci-fi novels without the concept of apocalypse. H. G. Well touches on civilization collapsing in The Time Traveler and War of the Worlds. But the biblical idea of the apocalypse is extremely different from the sci-fi version

The oldest science fictional concept is surviving an apocalypse. That’s a possibility. Science fiction has frequently explored the idea of civilization collapsing, or humans mutating. Since our species has a history of evolving, that’s a practical consideration.

Michigan as well! Grand Rapids area. I got lucky enough to get a few moments that were beautiful to the naked eye

Saw the aurora! It was mostly dim enough that I could only see it through long-exposure photos, but there were a few moments that were dazzling to the naked eye
