Tragic to see that Duncan Sheik has passed away. His writing, solo and for Broadway, (Spring Awakening fans here?) was so underrated. Listening to his 2022 album “Claptrap,” specifically “Smoke and Mirrors,” it hit me: Him and the guys in Princess Goes would probably make amazing music together.

I love it when bands I love get back together and record new music. Today that band is Colorado’s Edison: Sarah Slaton, Maxwell Hughes, and Dustin Morris. Three of the tightest, absolute best of friends who lapped around the U.S. playing live for years and making people dance along at every show.

I would love it if the ideal word was always right there. I look at a thesaurus as the tool that helps me not only find a unique but similar word but more often, it’s about deciding on a word that conveys the correct…emotional temperature. And I’m always going to want to have that “a-ha!” moment.

If you called your senators yesterday and told the “VOTE NO” on the Continuing Resolution *and* Cloture, CALL AGAIN TODAY. @schumer.senate.gov is full of it and gave us lip service. CALL YOUR SENATORS AND TELL THEM VOTING NO AND STOPPING THE GOP AND THIS BUDGET IS THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE ACTION.

2/ The plan seems to be to vote for cloture and then Thune agrees as his part of the bargain to allow a vote on basically an amendment to the bill. Probably something like Murray's bill. So you give up the 60 vote threshold. Have a vote on each version and the GOP one wins. End of story.

If by “fight for you,” that means anything other than voting NO on the bill and voting NO on Cloture, then you are playing games and hoping no one notices. You and every other elected Dem better be loud, clear, and united in voting “NO.” THAT’S how you push back. Everything else is lip service.
