Is ample time to play the game and review it? No way in hell. But that doesn't stop people from nominating it regardless if it gets released before the cutoff date. That is basically what our show talked about. The award show should have already announced it's cut off date but it hasn't.

If you listen to the podcast you would hear that is why we talked about the subject. The game award show has not announced its cut off date and that's part of the problem. If they decide to make the cutoff date say November 20th that still allows the game to sneak in.

Sadly, it sucks and we've had a bunch of cool arcade racers released over the past few years and they came and went. Remember Hot Shot Racing? That deserved more attention than it got. Heck, even the release of Screamer! We are seeing a renaissance, but is it enough?

I think that's mainly because arcade racers were always niche, outside of the few titles that made them popular; Ridge Racer, Outrun, Daytona USA, Mario Kart, Sonic Racing Transformed, Burnout, F-Zero, and of course, Forza Horizon. But as the scene went dormant, people abandoned hope and left.
