Y'all can call me Shadow or Ari (are-ee), most people know me as the former she/they Hobby writer, artist, also like to make stuff in general. And play video games. Autistic, disabled, dragonkin. Most humans find me exceedingly weird and that's fine by me.

Not all of Florida is “red” 💖🏳️‍🌈 Thanks to Winter Pride and the Global Rainbow by Yvette Mattern for these rays of hope and defiance

Felt like dabbling in a more painterly style in CSP, just to see how it feels, so I opened a scrapped piece and painted a couple of fantasy ‘giant iguanas’ I already had sketched. Small canvas, so I didn’t have to worry so much about detailing and could just practice the general technique. =D

Digital painting of an iguana like creature sitting in shallow water, done in the style of an oil painting.

Digital painting of an iguana like creature sitting in shallow water, done in the style of an oil painting but with a more clearly digital look. The background is unfinished, with a sharp boundary between white and blue lengthways across the image.

Digital sketch/painting/whatever to practice some brush settings I’m working on, trying to better capture the Feel of painting which is hard to get in a digital program Did all the values/actual painting bits on one layer in greyscale, then overlayed colour on top

Realised I never shared my first ever basket(?) here - finished it a few months ago, it took a long while because it’s entirely hand-processed and hand-made and I only worked on it intermittently.

Some old art non-roleplay group art from 2019-2021 I'm still happy with I did my best with the alt text but I'm not trained in it

Seven digital sketches of indeterminate feathers. The first is long and a bit scruffy with rough lines. The second is small, short, and frazzled at the quill. The third is short and crisp, slightly wider in the middle. The fourth is below the first and is a clump of three tiny, rough feathers. The fifth is long, this, and smooth with a long, cut-off quill for writing. The sixth is very small and rough at the quill. The seventh is mid-sized and very scruffy. Made in 2020.

Digital painting of a rich green conifer forest in front of a forested mountain ridge. The green of the mountain ridge fades slightly with distance and a subtle fog. Three dark green conifer tops sit in the foreground for depth. The sky behind the ridge is cloudy and grey. Made in 2020.

A sketchy digital painting of a sunrise or sunset over gentle hills. One hill sits in the foreground, mostly shaded in dark indigo and purples but lit at the edges in a mix of yellows, oranges, and wheat greens. Behind and the to viewer's right is a flat valley shaded in blues and purples, with a silver stream running from somewhere beyond the hill towards the lower right corner of the painting. Further back are overlapping hills shaded in purples and lit on the edges in wheat green and lavender. The sun is cresting over the farthest hills in a muted yellow, with many rays reaching out across the sky and flowing over the crest of the hill. The sky is a gradient of yellow to lavender blue at the topmost corners, but much is covered by broken, fluffy clouds. The clouds are pink with purple shading on the tops away from the sun, and richer pinks and soft yellows on the bottoms from the sunlight. The painting is signed under the pseudonym 'Shadow Briar wolf.' Made in 2021.

Some asteroid doggo pics from recent months uwu

Medium size, golden tan, shorthair terrier lab mix with a red collar rubbing his face against the camera holder’s right hand. One side of the dog’s face is scrunched up adorably against the hand.

Medium size, golden tan, shorthair terrier lab mix with a red collar is lying upright on a dark red blanket, front paws crossed and hanging off the edge of the surface in front of him. He is alert, looking at the camera with half floppy ears perked.

Front half of a medium size, golden tan, shorthair terrier lab mix is standing at the right of the photo, alert and looking towards the camera. He is standing before a window at the left of the photo through which a glimpse of blue sky and fluffy white clouds can be seen. A tan and green sofa back cushion with floral motifs is in the foreground. A bookshelf and the side of a lampshade are just visible in the background.

Bust photo of a medium size, golden tan and white, shorthair terrier lab mix sitting on a tan and green sofa with floral motifs. He is alert and looking directly into the camera with a curious tilt of the head towards the viewer’s left. He is backlit by white light from a window that is just out of frame.

recently got this shot of a sunrise from a sandstone feature I spent the night on while exploring (playing without monsters cause I prefer to focus on exploring, building, and general survival rather than combat/horror)

Been having a lot of fun getting completely sucked into vintage story at last (had my eye on it for ages but had to be responsible with my money) turned my starter shelter into a temporary workspace once I built my starter house, still working on the rest of the base uwu

My lil asteroid doggo is hard to take photos of because he rarely sits still, but these turned out pretty good regardless. (All from different days)

Did some landscape painting practice, one layer, really happy with how it came out (especially the river). Moons probably make no sense but it’s a fantasy world for a roleplay group I’m in so I just was winging it mostly.

Digital painting of a landscape at night. Three moons, one full, one gibbous, and one crescent, loom large over distant rocky hills, dry grass plains, and a river winding into the foreground. Mist hovers over land surrounding the river, which is also glowing under the moonlight. A grassy overlook is in the foreground, with a section of grass flattened as if something had been lying there recently.

poor quality because it’s a photo of my tablet screen, but here’s a piece I’ve been working on bit by bit for ages and now I’m just one background circle away from being done (unless I want to add faint colour afterwards, still undecided on that)
