I wrote this song as part of a songwriting course. The brief was something like: “Write an advertising song for the fruit company Del Monte.”🍌

I'm the same. Keep passing them in Aldi's. Mystified every time - but then I'm the type of person who likes their toast "underdone".

We called at 4 cities in 4 days with 5 people crammed into a Skoda. 🚗 It was wonderful to share a stage with @dezdareriffs every night and I never got tired of dancing to his tunes.🎸 Video music: Dez Dare - Call My City, Don't Call My Telephone

Hi, we are all Sha Rivari but it seemed appropriate for the other two to pick a proper band name for themselves. May I present to you Sha Rivari & the Maybes! 🎊 We have some cool shows to announce. More details shortly.🔜

Purrcolator Mark 2 is coming along nicely - but will it tremolo?

010 0

Sha Rivari & the Maybes @sha-rivari.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

Now I just need to build those 2 replacement tremolos and fix the intermittent fuzz. Or maybe I should just buy pedals that work? If you read this far you are a nerd.

Sha Rivari & the Maybes @sha-rivari.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

It all worked out great and it was much easier to get this done than I had expected. Still need to test it properly but the DC connection feels super solid.

Sha Rivari & the Maybes @sha-rivari.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

Drilling the hole into the enclosure was surprisingly easy. I installed the new DC jack and after a bit of reading had figured out which wire I had to solder where.

100 0

Sha Rivari & the Maybes @sha-rivari.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

The pedal box is pretty big and I was pleased to find that I could just about fit the DC jack in the top end of the box. Much prefer to have the connector there rather than on the side. Makes chaining my 3-4 pedals together much neater.

100 0

Sha Rivari & the Maybes @sha-rivari.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

My dad suggested I could maybe attach my new DC jack elsewhere and attach the cables from the battery snap. That way I could just bypass the bad jack. I'd lose the option to run the pedal via battery but I was rarely doing that anyway.

100 0

Sha Rivari & the Maybes @sha-rivari.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

I wanted to swap the shitty DC jack and replace it with a better one that you can screw into the housing but I couldn't see a way to remove the old one. It was mounted straight to the circuit board - I guess that's what you get for £35.

100 0

Sha Rivari & the Maybes @sha-rivari.bsky.social · 09/03/2025

Modified the pink pedal today and very happy so far. Been having this issue where the DC jack sometimes comes lose causing everything to die mid-song.

Had a lovely time at Penny Black's album launch on Saturday in Glasgow. Missed the band a bit but I guess it's just a different beast playing solo. Tried to dress festively but the bow tie followed its own rules. And lots of love to my friends who were there and cheered me on. 🖤 📸 by Sara
