I am a keen photographer of the world around me, living north east of Melbourne. I have been exhibited locally and overseas, and have been selling works over the past 12 years. I have focused on minimalist landscapes but will try my hand at any subject.

I think these are heath wrens - gathering for a splash in the bird bath. #birds #ausbirds #wren #heathwren

A gorgeous pair of gang-gangs drop in for breakfast this morning. I have not seen them for about 1 year, when they used to be regulars. #birds #ausbirds #gangangs

A rather scruffy looking crimson rosella as he malts ahead of his new winter feathers. This was taken towards the end if last summer. He now looks resplendent in his new outfit. #birds #ausbirds #crimsonrosella

Female King parrot - very intelligent and learns quickly. It recently flew into my kitchen but was quite relaxed about being guided outside again.

Eastern spine bill feeding on the nector of a succulent plant. They especially love the kangaroo paws when they flower. #birdoftheday #birds #easternspinebill #ausbirds

A young male gang-gang developing his red crest but still with his orange front feathers. A gorgeous bird. #addbirder #ausbirds #gang-gang #parrot

The male gang-gang showing his punk like crest. Due to habitat loss they are becoming rare.

The male gang-gang cockatoo - a little smaller than the sulphur crested cockatoo and MUCH quieter.

The magnificent sulphur crested cockatoo - birds with attitude! They waddle along like a drunk sailor when on the ground, and its not uncommon for them to ‘crash land’ in a tree if its a little small for them. And they have the loudest screech i think of any bird ! #parrots #birds #cockatoo

Headshot of a female king parrot. We often meet up in the morning for a chat. I suspect these king parrots are quite intelligent and have very good memories. I have been visited by the same pair for about 10 years.

A pair of rainbow lorikeets getting up close. Its unusual to have them visit in winter. We usually only see them in summer

Some of the latest flowers to emerge from winters cold spell. Spring is coming. The first image, a pink hardenbergia, is quite unusual; usually they are crimson to purple, but we found a pnk one that is thriving.

What started our as an IR shot has morphed into a simple, but i think more interesting, black and white image. Taken just a couple of kms from home.
