A squished red footed falcon for today's #BirdOfTheDay theme of #borb. These guys are vagrants here in Ireland and we wrote about encountering one for the first time on the east coast on our #BirdBlog (Link: theirishbirdblog.com/2025/06/05/r...)

Two weeks of writing every day and I've banked a bunch of words for when I inevitably slow down after returning to work tomorrow. Wish me luck at the day job🍀 #WriterSky #AmWriting

This is "The Meeting on the Turret Stairs" by Frederic William Burton, one of my favourite paintings of all time and a direct inspiration for my current WIP novel. The intermingled yearning and tragedy made me want to write my own story of doomed lovers. #WriterSky #AmWriting

Jumping on today's #BirdOfTheDay with a picture my partner took today of the rare glossy Ibis scratching their beak!

Sharing my first #WIPSnips for today's word: Rain; in which our protag is brought back to reality by the weather #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts #AmWriting
The shock of a fat water droplet landing on her head woke Doireann after a black sleep. Last night’s glow had been chased away and grogginess infused her limbs as she painstakingly pushed herself up to a sitting position. Her joints had rusted in the damp weather. The mist clung to her clothes and settled on her hair and lashes. She rubbed it away from her eyes and glanced up.

A long branch curved over her, laden with fat droplets. Fine spray danced in sheets across the clearing, twirling and dipping in and out of the trees.

Another drop pinged onto her forehead. She scooted away from the branch and stood, stifling a yawn.

The fire had been reduced to a pile of ash marring the forest floor. Some wrenboys were up and they stretched or jogged about the clearing, getting ready for the day’s exertion. Many more were sitting around with heads cradled in hands, and Doireann felt that old scraping on the inside of her ribs again.
