The FAI repeatedly told us players would be protected. Yet when a 24 year old acted on his conscience, they left him to stand alone & used a vote among his teammates to validate their own cowardice. This isn’t protecting a young player, it’s protecting themselves at his expense. #StopTheGame

The Oireachtas committee on Sport should urgently examine the behaviour of the FAI in relation to the Israel game more generally and their behaviour today in particular. Absolute hames made of the issue at every turn.

Sudden memory of a Colombian hitman coming to give a talk about finding god in prison. He spoke about all the people he'd killed for an hour and then spent about five minutes on the god stuff towards the end. Baffling even at the time. Not sure the school got what the thought they were getting.

The CoI has a relaxed attitude to funerals for non-Anglicans, probably dating to the old common law right to be buried in the church graveyard if you lived in a parish. It's still the case in England that the CoE must bury people who die in the parish if requested. The remnants of establishment.

Jack Chambers relies upon citizens (or people in the economy as he calls them) not understanding what a judicial review is. If the state has broken the law you may ask the court to hold them to account. That's what a JR is, and what Jack Chambers is against. The government following it's own laws.
