Happy day of Christmas for those of you who celebrate. May it be a day of warmth and cheer, and one where the new wool socks your grandma gave you don't itch. Oh, and may your war moose be well armored...

Alright folks, we're going on a break. We'll be camping, so we won't be checking in much for the next couple of days. Late next week we'll be at Readercon, so if you're there, look for us. We'll have some swag to hand out for our other endeavor, Trollbreath Magazine! Keep supporting short fiction!

Monday is Martin Luther King day here in the United States. I recommend you spend it reading works of resistance, works of community building, works of progress and of moving society forward, not back! Short Story Publishers & Writers - Add responses with links to your resistance stories!

Welcome to our 2000th follower (and beyond)! I am pleased how we've grown in the past months, and to have the opportunity to convince more wonderful people to support our short fiction communities. Short fiction... you may not have time for a novel, but there's always time for short fiction!

Today is a GREAT day to read short fiction, or listen to fiction podcasts, or find a new magazine to subscribe to, or hell... crack a novel, for heaven's sake! It's a hard day for all of us, so don't apologize for doing what ever you need to do to keep yourself balanced. I hear ice cream works!

Putting you on notice right now, spammers: This Account Fights Fascism. You wanna support the grifting, criminal, racist man baby? Go do it elsewhere. Also, we ride moose into battle. I don't make the rules, I just observe them from the back of my war moose, Klootz.

#810,368, not bad. Of course, the idea of keeping a list of current speculative fiction magazines didn't even exist until that day, so there's no way I could have joined sooner. Unless time travel. Hmm.... 🙃

Not too far from where we live (in Maine terms). Maine is very proud of our looming crustaceans, as well as stores that sell cold beer, guns, and wedding dresses (everything for the needs of the busy shotgun wedding planner).

Locus Magazine is a critical part of the SFF publishing industry. Unfortunately in recent years they've had to cut back on their coverage of the short story market. This fundraiser will help them restaff and return to more robust reporting.

Great job everyone. Thanks for showing your love and support for another fine webzine. I hope you're able to continue to do so, because it's your subscriptions and purchases which keep this industry we love afloat and allows editors to pay authors for their hard work.
