Shepherd's Pie isn't on many menus here in SF, so I just made my own.

Somehow Maxfield Parrish always comes along on our sails. This time the sunrise on our last day at anchor, China Camp.

Night time at China Beach anchorage after an afternoon troubleshooting the solar panel system (successfully).
It was overcast all day, but a bit of happy light towards evening. This was not where the fault was found, but part of the search for the culprit. Ended up being a blown fuse that was on one of the wires from this MPPT controller to the battery bank.

A breath of sanity from John Moriarty (because we all need it sometimes). #nature #johnmoriarty #reconnection #home
A beautiful sunset of (I assume Irish) mountains. It was the mythic landscape in which John lived and learnt to reconnect. Thrice baptising, he would say, his cancerous Western education out of his head, and nurturing the glowing ember of his 'bog soul.'

@noswpod.bsky.social I enjoy your podcast tremendously ... a real joy to listen to. In a recent episode you spoke of the dawn so here are two photos of dawn in San Francisco.
View from my bedroom window as I got out of bed. The photo is from my home, not on still waters, but in the heart of the City. Some mornings I see a white sky and hear the fog horns in the distance from the Golden Gate Bridge. Other mornings it's a bit more colorful. Some days I sleep on our sailboat, SV Wanderlust. Moored in the North Beach area of San Francisco a few miles from our land home, we have a view of the City skyline from the boat that is often a joyous blend of colors in the sky.

Forwarded these photos to a friend ... He has told me about the time he and some friends went into the Diving Bell when one of them worked at playland. Closed the door, dove, and smoked a bunch of weed. Now, decades later, he wonders about the regular visitors next into the weed den aka diving bell.

Fifty-five years have gone by quickly. May 1, 1971 - May 1, 2026. For all of these fifty-five years, in many locations, we have tried to grow lemons. Finally some success and fruit for our G&T and sweet martini. #zazie #zazierestaurant @cappylarson.bsky.social #outsidelands

Can't believe it's been seven years, today, since I departed San Francisco for Panama City to cross the Pacific in a thirty seven foot boat. Destination Hiva Oa.
Departure area just after midnight April 17, 2019.My Uber driver must have thought me crazy when I asked to be taken to a playground so I could wait for a dinghy to pick me up.First meeting of my Captain for the next month+. No regrets.

Christmas present for my wife is me refurbishing an early 1900's GE electric iron. The body was rusty and the handle didn't look great either. It had been on our back porch for many years and looked it. Evaporust and wire brushing the body and a shellac finish on the handle. (Decorative only)

Speaker Mike Johnson says his entire worldview comes from the Bible. But he’s about to kick 2 million Texans off their healthcare right before Christmas. If you aren’t loving your neighbor, then keep Jesus’ name out of your mouth.
