TikTok published this and almost nobody in our industry has read it. Your follower count is not a direct factor in what gets recommended on the For You feed. Neither is how your last video performed. We got into what that changes on Episode 203 of On The Whorizon.

Adult creators, what did you do before this, or what degree is collecting dust in a drawer somewhere? The narrative that we all fell into sex work because we had no other options needs to die and your skills and experience are the fastest way to kill it.

Saw a creator on here explain her whole OF strategy is small purchases from a lot of fans because she refuses to let one guy blow his paycheck on her content. Where do you land on this? Are you building for volume, for whales or both?

There is a ceiling on how many trial reels you can post and Instagram has never published a number for it. You find out when your trials stop going out, or when the Trial toggle stops appearing. Post to your feed first. Remix whatever performs and run that as the trial.

I used to preach a version of discipline that was mostly punishment. Get up at five, get through the list, feel bad when you don't. I said versions of that on our channels in the early days and I was wrong about it....

"DM me for the video" works because it opens a conversation and conversations convert better than passive unlocks almost every time. it's good to work toward passive income but it rarely beats a good DM strategy on its own.

Locked voice notes might be the lowest effort upsell in the DM toolkit. One sentence description of what's inside. They unlock it themselves. No minute counting, no heavy lifting on your end.

Zero. That is how many of your followers see a trial reel. None of them, by design. The floor to use them is 200 followers on a professional account, 1,000 on a personal one. Your numbers come back at 24 hours.. Are your trial views beating your regular posts?

The industry moves on gossip when we should be moving on strategy. I hope more of us send the DM instead of screenshotting it into a group chat this month.

I gave you bad advice about trial reels, so here is the correction. Mosseri confirmed in a Q&A this week that posting the same trial reel repeatedly can be detected and its reach limited. Instagram wants a meaningful change between versions. Nobody has ever defined meaningful.

There's a real argument that selling discounted videos to anyone who clicks undermines the whole "my time and attention are exclusive" brand positioning. There's also a real argument that it doesn't. Creators in CEO Society seem split on this. What's your take?

Every burnout cycle I have seen a creator go through started with her ignoring her own tell. Yours might be dread before opening the app or putting off replies you actually want to send. Whatever it is, watch for it earlier this cycle.

Adam Mosseri said trial reels are going to get less reach almost always, and he meant that as reassurance. No warm audience, no early boost from your own followers, so the number comes back smaller. Compare trials to other trials. Watch time, bookmarks, sends.

Instagram built a post type your own followers cannot see, and most adult creators still are not using it. Trial reels go to non-followers only. Zero overlap with the audience you already have.. If you post them and get nothing back, there is one setting behind it. Guess which one..?.

I spend a lot of time in the car community, around people with a lot of expendable income and very impressive cars. Every time someone asks what I do for work, I reach for the answer that sounds most respectable...

A subscriber who never responds isn't necessarily a lost cause. They're paying to stay. They just haven't been given a reason to talk yet. The onboarding message that changes that is almost never the one you wrote first.

Four rules I run on every objection I get: Never discount the thing he objected to. The cheaper option is a different thing, not less of the same one. Ask the price question last. Write down his payday. Do you do any of these?
