Yeah that’s totally good to break Canada’s resolve and not have any sort of rally around the flag effect at all.

Don't forget the gaming and film industries. Lots of employees. Big impact. Globally recognised. Locally ignored. Lots going on outside London. We export culture. We seem politically embarrassed by it as if the only real jobs are factory jobs in 1962

Trying to home cure salmon. 2.5 kgs of salt, sugar and frozen blueberries. Burnt out the motor. Lifted off the wrong part of the blender. Do you know how sticky 2.5 kgs of salt, sugar and frozen blueberries is? Salmon eventually was very good. Books are still purple.

You absolutely have to hand it to British Politics some times.

Is there something you can size them against? Or what’s the volume? They seem a bit big for an espresso cup? ie a bit more 12oz than 3?

Tactically I think what Labour needs is to have areas where Tory and Cons split, and the middle Third go LibDem or Labour. But their strategy is to appeal to the far 1/3, and that means they're losing the first 1/3. (If that makes sense)

It’s going my head in. I’ve gone from “can I find a beak in the weather to go for a run” to “I guess you can’t get any wetter once you’re wet” (turns out you can) I depressed myself by accidental clicking on my home town in the weather app.

First time I was in Glasgow last year I had an evening to myself. Looked up places to eat and spent 4 hours in a fantastic restaurant by myself. Chilling. Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Lovely service. Incredible food.

More here www.dwarkesh.com/p/notes-on-s... . Has a bit of maths backing it up. (via @charlesdenney.bsky.social 's overspill) Short answer, like most space things (settling mars) it's pretty much always going to be easier to do it on Earth, unless a lot of other very unlikely things really line up.

Far be it from me to tell the USA how to do foreign policy but if I was _this_ Whitehouse I’d be wary of telling civilians to rise up against an authoritarian government killing innocent people in the street, weakening the currency and squandering resources.

US House foreign affairs panel urges Iranians to
"make regime change inevitable"
The US House Foreign Affairs Committee has also pushed out a strong message on X following Trump's missive earlier. The tone from US officials has escalated.
«To the Iranian people: Ayatollah Khamanei has butchered your people, made rial the weakest currency in the world, and squandered your country's resources.
"Make regime change inevitable."

I voted in the first general election in 🇿🇦 where everyone could vote. 80 and 90 year olds stood in lines for 2 days to vote, something they had been denied all their life. Vote in every vote you can. That shits important. It’s never pointless and and a lot of people fraught hard for you to do so.
