@matt-plenty.bsky.social Hi matt, here is a photo of the Barn owl, i cant find the photo with both yet. This is on the left side of the tree when front facing the farm house. The nest hole is around half way up if i remember correctly. this was taken from the track to the side of the farm.

Clouded yellows everywhere on Severnside yesterday, including 3 Helice forms. At least 40 in a small section of the Western D. Looks like its a clouded yellow year. Haven't said that phrase in many a year.

2 x female Red veined darters at orchard pools at midday. Still 2 males at the Western D, also several Emperors as well as the Lesser seen again. A male emperor stopped and hovered just a few metres away. #Dragonflies

Visit to Western D this morning, at least 3 male red veined darters, one in cop with a female. Seen egg laying too. Also a Lesser Emperor patrolling the pond edge (no Photo). My first this year. A Clouded yellow also flew past. Thats 2 i have seen this week, the other at orchard pools. #Dragonflies

2 red Veined Darters at the Western D this morning, and a rare oddity Marsh Fritillary butterfly at the far end of path behind the big pool at Orchard Pools where Willow emeralds were last year. They need Devils bit scabious to survive, will keep an eye out for it when it flowers mid - late summer.

Tried to find a White letter Hairstreak at Aust Services area early this evening. No Joy but did find a surprise Purple Hairstreak. Plenty of other butterflies seen, including several Painted Ladies. Large whites seem to be everywhere at the moment. Also roosting Marbled Whites.

I took this photo back on October 3rd just south of Newpassage on the shoreline & never follow it up. I was doubting myself at the time but now think it is a Yellow legged gull. The light was very bright & harsh so the colour may be lighter or darker in reality. Can anyone confirm either way? #birds

Hello Bluesky -:) Pristine Peacock butterfly on the wall at Aust services view point today, also what looks like a Female blackcap photographed into the sun, had to adjust contrast at home to pull out some slight colour in the cap for id as couldn't identify on camera. Otherwise wagtails, chiffs etc
