Someone just messaged me asking what Mirabella sounded like in the novel and it made me so happy. For anyone wondering; loud, brash, and loves to fight, she doesn't let being a halfling hold back her voice. (Her wife Coinell fully approves of the meme outfit. Art by @willshawart.bsky.social )

WIP from @willshawart.bsky.social of Captain Mirabella Blackram looking incredibly rakish. I'll have a post up on the Patreon soon with some of her past concept art soon! #queerfantasy #lightnovel #indieauthors

Mirabella Blackram, a halfling wearing a very pirate-ish garb of a loose blouse, leather high boots, and a waist-cincher with suspenders. She's standing in a very rakish version of contrapasso as she swipes her hair back looking cocky.

Sonnie Cloudspire tends to simply take what she wants. It's one of her bad habits as a perpetual thief and the story's main antagonist. Art by the very talented @willshawart.bsky.social #fantasylightnovel #fantasywriting #queerwriters #FuckAI

Sonnie Cloudspire, a tall and elegant woman with a shock of platinum hair and some rather sinister-looking eyes, seated on a table and sipping a coffee while looking generally satisfied with herself. This is much to the chagrin of the people who's table she seems to have stolen from, seated on either side of her and looking shocked at the intrusion.

Action and reactions of one of our main characters: Ada. She may look academic at first glance but she has a lot of fight up those armored sleeves. (Art by @willshawart.bsky.social) #fantasy #lightnovel #characterdesign #charactersketches #wip

Ada Anima, pictured with varying expressions of: Delightfully nerdy wearing glasses, smiling with her eyes lowered, Seemingly concerned while avoiding eye contact, and with her head cocked sideways and her hand out, rolling her eyes with "rly?" adding to her expression.

Below we have Ada in a low combat stance, looking determined, her heron-beak blade in front of her, ready to strike.

A giant, fleshless, horselike creature with a growth stemming from its back that looked for all the world like the upper half of a flayed rider with unnaturally long arms. Exposed bone burst forth from wherever the muscles had worn thin... (Art by @willshawart.bsky.social) #fantasywriting #horror

Meet the mysterious antagonist of our story: Sonnie Cloudspire. A notorious assassin suspected of stealing some of the most priceless artifacts on the continent. What sinister ends could she need them for? Art by @willshawart.bsky.social #characterdesign #fantasylighhtnovel #lightnovel

Three different versions of Sonnie, a taller woman with short dark hair and a streak of white bangs. She is holding a rapier outstretched toward the viewer. The outfits left to right are: 1) A fine dress in a victorian style with her dressmaker's chatelaine dangling from it. 2) A stripped down outfit of pants and a high-collared shirt under a corset. 3) A similar outfit to the middle one with a ruffled shirt and a shorter, tiered skirt in place of the pants.

Let's start off with one of the central characters: Ada Ànema! Ada is a freelance researcher for the College in her home city of Allorika. She is a very skilled explorer and has a mysterious quirk when handling magic. (Art by @willshawart.bsky.social!) #fantasy #lightnovel #characterdesign

Ada Ànema, an athletic woman with black-streaked platinum hair and red eyes behind brass-rimmed glasses, sporting a lightly armored black coat and some sturdy traveler's clothes. She has a coiled rope slung over one shoulder and is holding a khopesh-inspired hook sword. She looks ready to do some serious exploring.
