Thank you so much! It was fun to write and build and I have so much more cool stuff to do :D

TIL when I use international roaming on my phone, it actually tunnels all my traffic through a host back in Australia. Makes trying to test deploying my app in multi-region, fun! No wonder I kept hitting Sydney instead of Stockholm…

I’ve been thinking a lot about what are almost like dark patterns in LLMs that make them much harder to use for learning about coding than they need to be. They’re designed around taking action, and it can be hard to get them to just support in you in learning jola.dev/posts/ai-ant...

AI is antithetical to learning

LLM agents can write a lot of code for you very fast, but they also take away opportunities to learn and grow.

It also makes that 80% much harder because you don't have as much internalized context from the first 80%, because the AI did it

1. Sunrisers Hyde^H^H^H^HLeeds - at least they kept the chip theme by being Doritos! Plus they have a big Aussie connection (in the IPL anyway). They can stay, I guess!

3. Southern Brave - An Indian team in everything but name. They lose points for not just embracing it and changing the name too. Are they hiding? 2. Manchester Super Giants - AI sloppin' all over the place on social media and with the ugliest jerseys ever. Plus, elephants, in Manchester? Why?

Tier list for Indian-owned teams in the Hundred, worst to best: 4. MI London - never ever ever liked MI or any of their derivatives. (See: Hardik Pandya) And they killed my Oval Invincibles! And "My London" sounds stupid. And they started this disasterous trend of cringey team songs. And.... 🧵

(part 2) 3. ...Then cheer for the associate member (for maximum lols) 4. Is New Zealand or South Africa playing? Then cheer for them (when they play each other, it's a toss up) 5. Else, pick whichever I like more on the day ✌️

Rules I use to determine who to cheer for in a cricket match (part 1): 1. Is Australia playing? Then cheer for Australia 2. Is England playing? Then cheer for whoever England is playing against (because lol England) 3. Is an associate member playing against a full member? (cont)

Let's highlight dialogue topics that are relevant to quests, and link to the quests! #Morrowind #Goatmire #ElixirLang

A screenshot of a webpage showing a list of dialogue topics in Morrowind, and a set of responses for the topic "1000-drake pledge".

The topic is highlighted in the topic listing with a (1) to show it is related to one quest, and the details section shows a link to the related quest "Pledge from Canctunian Ponius"

The Nerevarine Prophecy was encoded in little-endian floats. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is a 24-year-old RPG whose entire world - every quest, NPC, spell, and line of dialogue - is packed into…

But what if your answer to “What would it take for you to feel comfortable shipping code to production without reading it?” is “Nothing I can think of”?

Two of the cricket teams I support have now been killed by the IPLification of franchise leagues. I hate it I hate it I hate it Melbourne Stars and Oval Invincibles forever

I am absolutely tickled that I can code things like "list all the NPCs in Morrowind, sorted by the number of quests they are a part of." If you don't know what I'm on about, or are curious and want to hear more, I'll be giving a talk about it at Goatmire Elixir! #goatmire #elixirlang
