Ah, so deliciously early-1990s. 🤩 And at the same time, so retro-1980s. 🙂

That would be our own sun. I love its warmth and energy, and how it makes everything on Earth look vivid and cheerful. 💚

Yeah, same here. Gen-AI use just feels cheap, indolent and wrong, and encountering it puts me off.

🧵 2/2 But the MC Windows game tracks were made using various audio hardware in Ramon's little home studio at the time, in the mid-1990s. I'm pretty sure Ramon only has the final CD audio tracks of those tracks, not the audio editor files addressing his former audio gear via MIDI interfaces. 🫤

🧵 1/2 You could ask @ramonbraumuller.eurosky.social for the Moon Child World 1 stems, but I guess the bottleneck is that the celebrated MC Amiga title track with the extended lyrics was made in our own Amiga music editor Digital Mugician, so it was fairly easy for Ramon to dissect the channels…

I've recently uploaded the stems of the Moon Child Amiga title track as WAV files of the individual channels, so making a new Moon Child mix is now much easier. Grab the Zip file from the Moon Child Archive's file directory: archive.org/download/Moo...

Moon Child is a 1990s platform game that became a viral meme on Bluesky in April. Subsequently, the creators decided to release the game and two other games for free. Get them here: metinseven.itch.io

In the summer of 1992, Team Hoi was interviewed by the only Dutch Amiga magazine, covering the events surrounding Hoi's unreliable publishers. The title translates to "Childhood dream or nightmare?" The complete interview can be viewed in my Archive: archive.org/details/amig...

So when I'm doing art I usually just let grab a random Youtube music video off my front page and let the algorithm swap through songs. So every time it randomly throws the Moon Child theme up I'm reminding of how much that song had no right to be that fucking good.

Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, the Netherlands had no games publisher yet, so we had to travel to the UK to approach publishers at computer shows, and you needed luck to find a reliable publisher. There was no internet yet to research a publisher’s reputation. You had to believe their promises.
