As a bonus, since we were there until the evening, we got to see the castle in a low-light setting. It was beautiful!

I'm telling you all of this because on Saturday, we went to Doune Castle to watch The Holy Grail inside the great hall! It was a very surreal experience!! 😱 Also, this year is the film's 50th anniversary!

This is the iconic scene that was filmed on the east wall: www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9DC... Fun fact: Castle Aargh at the end of the film is Castle Stalker in Argyll, Scotland. Here is a photo from our trip to it last November. We didn't get any closer than this or go inside (yet!) 🙏

Does this wall look familiar to you? It should if you're a Monty Python fan! This is Doune Castle in Scotland. The east wall, courtyard, and interiors were used in the film as Camelot and Castle Anthrax. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doune_C...

After seeing yesterday's announcement of the new LEGO Game Boy coming out in October, it made me think about this very crude one I made in 2017. I'm sure the designers actually did the system justice this time around. 😅 What are those?? AAAs? Everyone knows the system takes AAs...

We saw FIVE castles and a tower over the weekend too! McCaig’s Tower, Dunollie Castle, Castle Stalker (aka Castle of Aaargh from Monty Python and the Holy Grail!), Barcaldine Castle, Dunstaffnage Castle, and Kilchurn Castle. We didn't go inside any castles since they're all closed until spring.

Hi Bluesky! I'm SetToBuild, or Jonny if you prefer! I'm a lifelong fan of LEGO, creative builder, and streamer. I love building custom models related to castles, sci-fi, anime, and gaming. Here are some things I've made this year!

A custom-built LEGO model of four scenes based on the anime, Delicious in Dungeon.

A large custom-built LEGO model of Shibuya Crossing. Buildings, vehicles, and people populate the scene of this famous crosswalk.

A custom LEGO model of the Jazz Quartet set, but spooky! A sea creature pianist, zombie trumpeter, werewolf bassist, and skeleton drummer are all playing on a smoky stage.
