As they rejoined the pack, the others were obvious with their curious looks. But it wasn't to Steve that they sent looks of admiration to now. It was to Eddie. The alpha trotted his horse to the front of the pack, head head high – his stubborn, fierce, highborn wife seated so prettily in his lap.

As the great animal began to walk forward, Eddie didn't even bother to snatch the reigns from him. Rather he fiddled with a saddle bag and took out a loaf of soft bread that he placed in Steve's hands instead. Steve handed the reigns over easily, ripping the bread apart while Eddie held him close.

After settling, he placed his soft lips at the tender red flesh rubbed raw by the coarse rope, tracing back and forth and placing a kiss. His touch soothed even his anger that Steve couldn't nudge the animal forward an inch. And his desire was sated by the proximity of their bodies, simmering low.

At first, every time he stumbled Eddie refused look back. He acted like he couldn't hear any of Steve's curses, though he said them loud enough to draw smirks and laughter from the pack. He tugged the rope when Steve resisted, pulled him along, and did not offer more slack when he fell behind.

Pulled along by the rope tied around his neck, he had no choice but to keep up with the slow pace of the caravan. The length extended far with generous slack as it was held along with the reigns in Eddie's hands. He couldn't remove the offending thing: his hands were bound again with familiar knots.

It started when Robin reports that he didn't have a carriage for him. And hardly a cart. And that was loaded full with loot from the castle. Steve is busy petting the handsome, stocky horse Eddie led to him. It's clearly the alpha's horse, following him with familiarity and trust.
