Furthermore, this report uses the term "sex-rejecting procedures", which is the term that Kennedy has used instead of gender affirming care. Bringing in this term is a way to signal a negative perspective on gender affirming care.

As is the usual for writings about gender affirming care by this current administration, they call gender affirming care “sex-rejecting procedures”. This is a term that is being used to delegitimize gender-affirming care. It is important, as a nonprofit, to be aware that these terms are being used to attack gender affirming care and supports for transgender youth.

Importantly, none of the people who were a part of writing this report are qualified to discuss gender affirming care. The list of authors includes, writers, lawyers, and policy analysts. There are two doctors, but only one is qualified to talk about hormone therapy.

To start, none of the authors except for Dr. Van Meter are qualified to even talk about the topic of gender affirming care. As a pediatric endocrinologist, he is the closest. Considering that none of the authors work within the field of gender affirming care or with transgender youth, they are not experts in what they are writing about.

We had a banana going bad so we made banana chocolate chip cookies. My son helped mix and scoop the cookies. He also learned that you can use a cup or a cookie cutter to make the cookies a little more round and uniform.

So long story short, Nate & I needed new pots and pans. We had ours since my first apartment senior year of college so... It was time. And our are from MadeIn. Look at how pretty they are!!! Just in time for a few major meals.

In this article, we use fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) to explore waste water, through Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) scores, to understand the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) global supply chain.

Results: The results indicate that firms with the most industrial partners and relatively higher water pollution levels have the highest ESG scores, which is a paradoxical fact. It shows that supply chain complexity and capability add to the ability of DWR firms to invest in ESG capacity overall. However, when it comes to direct ecological damage, overall ESG investment does not lead to improvements in lowering the toxicity of effluents.

Conclusions: The findings suggest that DWR producers with the best environmental scorecards are also those with the highest levels of water pollution emissions, regardless of their recycling platforms, as well as those with the most international partners. The implication is that they will be the hardest to regulate under EPR eco-modulation mandates because of jurisdictional oversight and the inability to mitigate their water pollution or recycle their waste.

Introduction: This paper explores the impact of the transition from voluntary to mandatory Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation in the EU on the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) global supply chain. The query is presented in the context of green procurement. DWR material is essential in outfitting public-facing personnel, thus impacting government purchasing policies for uniforms—a sector valued at about $30 billion a year. Under EPR mandates, apparel commerce is to penalize unrecycled waste and deadstock. DWRs are non-recyclable. Public procurement managers have to reconcile this reality when choosing preferred suppliers. The EPR legislation’s directives are to prioritize firms that follow best-available practices and demonstrate genuine innovation in recyclable DWR technology.

Materials and methods: Using a dataset of 12 global DWR producers, we employ Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) to identify configurational “solutions” of firm-specific factors that impact sustainability evaluation, including percent of waste recycled and water “stress.” We use Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) scores, as the most-used proxy of firms’ sustainability evaluation, to estimate which DWR producers would gain “preferred supplier” status in government contracting, under EPR eco-modulation mandates.

Made butter cookies with my 6yo for a family event tonight and we decorated them together. He certainly subscribes to the more is more principal of icing and sprinkles. I am not raising a minimalist.

Long story short, it is not AS bad as it could have been, but it puts gender affirming care out of reach for a lot of people under the age of 19 in the US. I also touch on the DOJ subpoenas of records of transgender youth and what that means for nonprofits(& I learn that I cannot spell subpoena).

The rule does still allow for Federal Medicaid and CHIP funding to be used for psychotherapy or counseling. Based on my reading, this means that gender-affirming therapy is still covered by Medicaid and CHIP.

Nate gave me an afternoon to myself and then took me out for an early birthday dinner (my birthday is going to be observed on Weds this year). So what did I do with my time off? Ate and bought books. Then Nate & I went to an amazing pastry shop & had BBQ. Yes that mango & cloud are mousse cakes!

2 books I bought: dungeon crawler carl by Matt Dinniman & Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt.

2 pastries: a mango with a mango and a passion fruit mousse in it and a cloud cake with some mousse in it. I forgot what it was.

I had ice cream at JP Licks bc of course I did. My father did not raise a kid who would say no to ice cream.

There has been some great research on how social media can be both a positive and negative influence for LGBTQIA+ youth. It can be a place of cyberbullying or a place of refuge and identity-affirming. By throwing out access to social media, nonprofits need to ask how to support LGBTIQA+ youth.

Social media is a complicated topic and can be a double-edge sword; it can be a place of rejection, isolation, connection, and/or refuge.

Social media because it can be an important hub of information for trans youth.

German youth found positive impacts (online support networks) and negative impacts (cyberbullying) in their use of social media.

For youth of color, social media can be identity-affirming. There is some evidence that social media “support the mental health and well-being of LGBTQ youths through peer connection, identity management, and social support, but findings were limited by weaknesses in the evidence”.

I read through the KIDS Act, a bipartisan act which recently passed the House. It looks different than the Senate KIDS act so it is unclear what a combination of these two bills would look like. But the house bill allows us to see what politicians are seeing as the future of social media.

Section 213.b: Allows parents to view & change privacy settings & restrict time spent on covered platforms.

Section 234: Platforms may not have direct messaging for children aged 13 years old or younger.

Section 235: Alerts parents if a teen receives a message from anyone not approved & the ability to manage an approved list.

Section 404: Chatbots need to disclose itself & there needs to be resources for a suicide or crisis hotline in the event of of a crisis/suicidal ideations disclosure.

Subtitle B, Section 211: Creation of a public awareness and educational campaign on safe use of the internet by minors. Section 534 calls for education on safe and responsible use of chatbots by minors.
