I'm happy to announce the RetroTap will be releasing on September 3rd. RetroTap is a 9V, 5V power distribution system that powers up to 11 retro consoles, compatible with 45+. It replaces aging, bulky wall warts with a simplified, modern, central power solution. kytor.com/store/produc... /1

Oh no, I think watching Vrach Frankenshteyn is about to send me on my fifth watch through of The X-Files. Apparently four times is not enough to cure me of whatever Mulder and Scully have done to my brain.

Here’s a small GitHub Action that keeps your GitHub repo mirrored to @tangled.org. Supports branches, tags, dry runs, divergence checks, and keeps destructive syncing opt-in but doable. Made it for @hangar.blue the other day. 🔄 github.com/sethcottle/t...

Both of those things would be wildly helpful! Would love to pick your brain with some best GNOME UI practices (still a lot to learn!) especially with some of the GNOME 50 changes like the icon refresh, I feel like I can definitely knock the polish level up 1000%.

It’s been a fun journey so far! Obviously a ton left to do with Hangar, it’s pretty barebones. I’m hoping to start carving out some more time for it (have just had so much going on), but any feedback you have, DMs or anything else are always open! It’s always great to learn from the OS pros. :)

I've been doing a “mostly Linux” experiment this past month. I installed Fedora GNOME on my former Windows laptop & dual booting on my desktop. I'm still using Windows and macOS as needed, but Linux has been surprisingly easy to live in so far. Excited to keep learning and exploring!

Having a 3D printer has been the best for building my retro game collection. Custom cartridge storage, controller stands, and tons of little accessory mounts. I’ve just been blown away with the community and the sheer amount of published models already solving everything I’ve searched for.

Yeah working fine on my wife’s 15 Pro, just my 16 Pro Max. 🥺 They’re just trying to get me to go get a 17 at the Apple Store, they know me too well.

Huh yesterday’s public release of iOS 26 seems to be getting a few stutters here and there on my 16 Pro Max—didn’t encounter that on the beta or dev preview channels.

The Analogue Pocket got me replaying Pokémon Red the last few weeks and reliving the feeling of childhood afternoons spent with my Game Boy. Now I'm going to have to find somewhere to keep all these Game Boy cartridges I'm finding myself with. 😅

We’ve been getting the baby’s room together the last few weeks. ✅ Fully painted. ✅ Furniture assembled. ✅ Closet system in. The only big thing left on the list… accent wall wallpaper… sometime… soon-ish.

I guess I’ve just been in e-ink brain space for months now without even realizing it. One I haven’t mentioned yet that I’m so hyped for is @usetrmnl.com—excited to dive into making some fun little apps for it like I did with Tidbyt. Is 2025 the year of e-ink for me? 😅

I think there’s an interesting future in it! This is just a WiFi e-reader, no SIM—I’ve found Hisense has made some seemingly a-okay actual 5G e-ink phones I’d like to research more. I’m patiently waiting to see if daylightcomputer.com steps into the phone arena in a few years though.😅

Picked up a Boox Palma 2 this weekend. Hoping it helps cut down on screen time—pocketable, crisp, and relatively distraction-free. Setting it up with just the basics (even iMessage through BlueBubbles) to see if I can ditch my iPhone while I’m at home.

A hand holding a Boox Palma 2 e-ink device displaying a home screen. The time reads ‘05:53 PM’ on ‘March 24, Monday.’ The screen shows app icons organized into labeled folders including ‘1Password,’ ‘Productivity,’ ‘Audio,’ ‘AI,’ ‘Play Store,’ ‘News,’ ‘Social,’ and ‘Reading,’ along with a row of additional apps and navigation icons at the bottom.

110

Seth Cottle @sethcottle.com · 21/03/2025

That is actually something I had worked on quite a while ago, but the Instagram Basic Display API was depreciated + it’s a little clunky with having to manually edit the link every time a post updates + no build system means no compiling environmental variables… so I shelved it. 🙈

110

Seth Cottle @sethcottle.com · 20/03/2025

FWIW I mostly wanted it to make some fun little apps and to have it as a backup watch for when an activity is not suited for my actual nice watches. I’ve somehow avoided the whole smartwatch daily drive thing all these years (even with a drawer full of them) and have just used an Oura ring.
