Hopefully my imagination will come up with creative ways to spread hope. Any posts reflecting the above sentiment will also be interspersed with (potentially rabid) Detroit Lions takes and commentary, as well as less than polite responses to MAGA posts.

The Kyiv Independent has more faith in the American people than I do….but they’ve at least got me. Slava Ukraine.

Yes, that is very, very wrong; it is not genocide. Saying it is is disingenuous and, again, destroys the ability make any credibility with the ignorant and right right wingers who may have started questioning this admin, because even they know this isn’t genocide by any definition.

No. This may be a precursor to one, but nothing is actively occurring yet that could even remotely be considered genocide in the U.S. overreactions like this make it easier for MAGA and other right wingers to ignore and pretend we’re just crazy.

If I moved to anywhere in Europe, it’d be one of the Baltic nations; I’d spend my whole life trying to live up to the badassery of Estonians, Lithuanians, and Latvians, and most likely wouldn’t succeed.

It isn’t Canada’s job to do that; Trump backed down like the bitch he is, and Canada did the same. It’s what honest nations do.

Damn straight. There’s nothing wrong admitting you want to make money and that diversity assists in making that money. Ofc, the fact so many companies push back against such policies and get supported by it is telling where the national mind set is at rn…

It took me a while to stop viewing everything as “God’s will” and “God’s law”. Perhaps I still am brainwashed, because I *do* still believe in God, but more as an omnipresent friend. Naive of me perhaps….but comforting when I am alone.

“May”? We absolutely will, companies have found the stupidest reasons to raise prices. We’re never seeing pre-tariff prices again, cuz they’ll find a dumbfuck way to justify keeping those prices.

I’m not proud of how I reacted to Kaepernick during that time. Not only was it just not that bad, I was just too naive, and yeah, privileged to think for a moment about what bringing attention to these issues was doing.

I’d love to know how, see is liberals just spent 4 years undoing the damage of Trump’s first term and famously haven’t attempted to overthrow the US government during a major temper tantrum. And the crux of my argument is not that “libs” aren’t on welfare at all, it’s that they didn’t vote for this.
000
ServerFirewatch @serverfirewatch.bsky.social · 01/02/2025
Do it. I’ve been hearing how conservative voters don’t care about price increases as long as it owns “Libs” like me; I’ll voice and equal sentiment and see how those filthy welfare bastards in the Bible Belt survive off higher prices and welfare cuts from their beloved dictator.

I get the geopolitics fantasy played out here, but California is more likely to be Canadian by choice than it ever is to be Mexican by any means; not only would Mexico hesitate draw any sort of conventional military pressure, but even the most leftward Californians would pause at joining a narco st.

It was in Carter’s presidency that, for the first time, American’s believed their children would not see better days in the future than their parents. I don’t think any other president since him would have acknowledged that. I miss this man, for his honesty, for his diplomacy, and his steady hand.

War in Europe since world war 2 has raged unabated since 2022 in Ukraine; they think that shit ended after a month, because people do not give a fuck. These idiots are the ones who got blindsided by “we’re spending billions there” and decided they don’t care to help a larger anti-fascist fight.

Hope for what? Another insurrection that justifies what Jan 6ers did because suddenly *we* can’t accept election results? This outcome is not a surprise to anyone who saw that most of America doesn’t give a flying fuck about the news; most of my coworkers didn’t even know the largest ground (1/2)

ServerFirewatch @serverfirewatch.bsky.social · 02/01/2025
A LOT of those 74 million are convinced the election was rigged….they did not pay attention to the apathetic, disgusting rhetoric from a lot of people considered locked up for Dem votes, like young people and Latinos. The shock from that is just sad, and needs to be tempered. We are not Jan 6ers.

Considering what I heard living in California of all places, seeing a much more apathetic and closed minded voting base for a supposedly liberal generation, I am not at all surprised by the election results. This line of thought is dangerous af; it needs to be admitted that the Dems fucked this up.

In the face of everything they *do* want to ban, why on earth are you hoping the one thing that can help defend everything we hold dear when MAGA inevitably goes kinetic in their conflict?

I’m not doubting the pic is real bud, I’m saying you look far older than you think you do, and have the words to back your old ass up. Classic old ass, privileged MAGAt, living in a fantasy world of the past and pretending those rules apply today.

The minimums on CC debt, taking whatever bonus money they have to pay more than minimums, and never actually accumulating capital because they literally can’t afford to do so. And newsflash, yea, your PFP DOES look boomer ish, in the way a lot of Gen Xers do these days.

ServerFirewatch @serverfirewatch.bsky.social · 31/12/2024
Ok, see, that’s the problem: so many people have almost no ability build that up. Yes, that is partially because CC debt mounts up, but why does CC debt mount up? Gee, it’s almost like living has gotten more expensive, wages haven’t moved with that, and now most of America has to survive paying 1/2

ServerFirewatch @serverfirewatch.bsky.social · 31/12/2024
wtf do you mean “good debt”? Do you mean “oh shit, if I don’t pay this I’m homeless” debt? Or do you mean “the bank deemed I was rich enough to afford cheaper than rent payments to us”? Get your boomer shit out of here.

High APRs ALSO means “no credit history”, ie, everyone is gonna start on the same, rough 30% APR bullshit I did. You talk so smugly despite clearly speaking from a position of better times or inherited wealth, so forgive me if I think your “pull your own bootstraps” tone make your opinion worthless.

ServerFirewatch @serverfirewatch.bsky.social · 31/12/2024
This is a new attack angle after just about everything presented in regards to housing has been shot down at both state and federal levels. As others have pointed out, if CC companies can’t make money on 10% interest rates, they’re fucked anyway. Also, isn’t it the worst debt BECAUSE of high APR?
100
ServerFirewatch @serverfirewatch.bsky.social · 31/12/2024
Ooooor, and hear me out….not having 1/3 interest rates on the most common debt in America, and calling it at 1/10 might make people more reliable at paying said debt back; considering big business and GOP congressionals fuckin sucked at it even worse with PPP loans, I’ll trust my peers to do so.

ServerFirewatch @serverfirewatch.bsky.social · 31/12/2024
Real “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” energy here, boomer. As someone who just moved out with my fiance (combined wages at 49$/hr), I’d find it laughably hard to have done so without going into debt, and impossible to do so without both of us working so we don’t see eachother. Fuck that.

Injury will always be a risk, but this game kept both sides fresh for next week. Ngl tho, watching ARSB limp a bit after one of his catches spiked my blood pressure. He wasn’t even injured, he just was being careful.

There’s hope for every subsequent generation; I’d like to think people in my situation (slowly turning to the left/liberalism) represent that, aware of the hypocrisy of the Church, but considering how an alarming part of Gen Z voted….we’ll see. (12/12) Fin

The supreme irony is that the morale they gave, when viewed secularly, would make anyone with them shun the GOP and Trump, but when in the lens of the Church, their is no room for maneuver or change; it is the most dangerous naïveté in the world, and its shared by 100,000s of Americans. (11/?)

But when it comes to the stances put forth by the church, they are unwavering. They do not recognize the hate coming from their party, because they think the values they have are shared by those they voted in, by virtue of what they’re told to vote for by the Church. (10/?)

My parents are not hateful people. They taught me the Union were the good guys, to make my heroes those who stood peacefully in the name of progress like Jackie Robinson and MLKJ, and to treat people with the respect they’ve earned based off their actions, not their class. (9/?)
