It do be that spooky time of the year again (still needed a seasonal pfp after I made the alternate model last year)

Apparently there's a Palworld popularity vote, huh Despite the derivativeness there's still some cool designs among the pals in the game, kinda hard to pick only 3 Characters are whatever lmao

Hey it's time for the popularity vote this year Thought there wouldn't be any changes compared to last year, but damn, there've been some upsets in my favourites #toho_vote22

First try Iron Dragon clear, with only 11 bombs. Pretty fun Also getting close to the final 40m achievement with a PB of 38m, should be done in no time (hopefully)

Can recommend this game, neatly designed shmup with some unlockable and certainly not unsettling content

Featuring a novel new match format, UDoALG Lunatic Survival demanded mastery of 3 different shot types! Although evenly matched on two fronts, Serus gained the advantage over MegaTronen with a 1-miss Hisami run! Artwork by @th10-coldinferno.bsky.social. #touhou #TouhouWorldCup #TWC2026

"Man when I travel to Sweden I should do some blogging about it on here and do lots of cool shots of Närcon and the events" Well, about that... Maybe next year I will do a proper goat travel log 🐐

Lately I've been making an effort to work on my backlog and write down my thoughts on the games I've played so far (at least since last year) so I might as well plug it here: bckl.gg/qYEH If only starting new games, even ones I'm actually interested in, would be easier :P

Still losing badly in PvP but I don't even mind that, it's still a lot of fun :P

Honestly, given how frustrating PoFV has left me in the past, the stream I had today getting both a score PB and a 6 lives clear was definitely something I needed. Kinda easy to just lose motivation when nothing works out correctly, but now I know I can do better. Also being *this* close to 7L.

Outside that there's plenty of free fangames, iconic ones being Concealed the Conclusion, Shining Shooting Star, Phantasmagoria Trues, the games known as the Kaisendou games (didn't age too well but were very prominent 10 years ago) And that's just a selection, there's a whole google sheet of those

Serus @serus.bsky.social · 19/05/2026

Steam got some fangames with good presentation like FDF which got already mentioned but also games like Abyss Soul Lotus, Elegant Impermanence of Sakura, Ultimate Vitality of Imagination, Blue Devil in the Belvedere, Servants of Harvest Wish Also Forlorn Souls of Wicked Past. Only a demo, still peak

Feels like it's weirdly difficult to get into something else, even casually, when you could just do the same thing you've been doing already and improve in there instead. Starting new games shouldn't be this much of a hurdle but somehow it is, it's quite strange.

Rest of the year: completely normal This week: Hey so you're gifted with the unique preferences of liking Touhou and liking ESC, how about we have the beginning of TWC and the entire ESC in the same week hope you like being overstimulated with things

It's those beautiful fleeting moments like this when I realise I'm way too much terminally online, a slave of the community, imprisoned by cyber activity, freed for a mere instance from my shackles of validation yeah discord is down

031

Serus @serus.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

I feel April Fools' this year even less than I did last year. Which was already not a lot. And given I haven't seen *that* many funny shenanigans online so far, maybe it's for the better. I guess times are changing.

I'm just gonna share my recap for this year. What the actual fuck. I did not plan to do that many things this year and yet here we are. Thanks to everyone who sticks around with me on my streams, and to the people from TRC, FnC and the other servers. Touhou wouldn't be this fun without you.

161

Serus @serus.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

surely next year I will put in more effort and actually draw something new for this, that will totally happen (it's not like I was completely uncreative this year or something, nope not at all ... ughh I need more free time) will probably have to think about putting them on another date as well hmm

000

Serus @serus.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

I figured I never did a proper announcement for this, whoops. I'm gonna have my annual Photo Game Marathon on New Year's Eve. To be more precise ... in roughly 12 hours, probably, if I'm on time :P No gimmicks this year, just four pure speedruns of the games I learned so far.

Serus @serus.bsky.social · 23/12/2025

Forgot to post this yesterday, but I got this neat PB which also is WR on the speedrun-leaderboards youtu.be/uBOpiqqkSfs lots of stuff to be improved here though, you can tell no one ever wanted to really invest time in this game
