Akechi’s pupils are blown out so far they nearly encompass his irises—his gaze is manic, tender. He stares down at Akira with an incomprehensible cocktail of emotions, soft locks of brown hair falling to frame his face.

“I hate you,” he whispers, like a prayer. It is as sincere as sincere can be when he’s leaning down in the same breath to rest their foreheads together. Akira is gone.

The thrum of a heartbeat is loud in his ears and he can’t tell if it’s his or Akechi’s, if there ever was a difference from the start. All he knows is that in the next heartbeat, Akechi rises from where he’s leaned over and thumbs Akira’s bottom lip, breathing heavily.

“I hate you,” he says again, laced with a bitter irony, before sealing their mouths at the seams.

ok now what if - a shuake fic based on the premise of goro being greedy. he's been deprived his entire life of almost everything. couldn't he just have this one all to himself?

it's just hitting me that sumire/kasumi was just an observer for shuake. she wanted in so much, wanted to have ren all to herself. but she wasn't greedy enough! maybe ren set his eyes on his target long ago. that's one thought that makes her feel just a bit better.

bsky lacks a lot of the features that uplifted artists + writers. with the necessary adjustments, i think it would be an amazing substitute... i do feel more welcome here, though. twitter always felt like i had to cater to particular trends to get interactions. it felt very, very lonely
