The president of The Trace is John Feinblatt, the architect of Michael Bloomberg's stop and frisk policy. I appreciate the symmetry in a newsroom reporting on gun owners being treated as an oppressed minority run by a guy whose signature accomplishment was oppressing minorities in search of guns.

I grew up in a town whose only station was the country AM station KPOK (after cowpoke). I tear up a little bit when I hear that Red Sovine song about the ghost trucker who gave his life to save a bus load of kids. I listen to a decent amount of modern country. I'm not representing the policies that passed, I'm representing the policies Tabke coauthored. If he coauthored an anti-abortion bill that died in committee, would you tell people to forget about it? I don't see any point in forgetting that he coauthored a bill to allow racist cops on our homes.

So you have to store the gun in your home, and you have to agree to allow the police to inspect your home. Hard to see how they could inspect without entering. No stated limit on when or how often the inspections your are required to agree to will happen.

Sorry, I was saying that in the middle of the occupation he tried to pass a bill that would have required lots of the people of the ethnicities being targeted by ICE to allow cops into their home without a warrant.

(And he made sure to include an explicit exception for ICE and MPD) IMO, someone taking the federal occupation seriously should not be writing bills inviting cops into the homes of gun owners of color without a warrant.

Yep, found it. Tabke coauthored a bill banning the sale of many guns, including pistols with a threaded barrel like Alex Pretti's. And it would've required people who already had those guns to allow cops into their homes with no warrant to check their gun storage, with no limit on when or how often.
