Know your "Vegvesir." This is a highly debated symbol. When it comes to Norse Paganism, the overall consensus is that this isn't a true Nordic symbol, but stems from christian roots. #Norse #norsepagan #norseaymbols Also, clearly there are many different versions.

Here are some basic meanings. If you use sage, make sure it is something like Juniper berry sage. It works just as well as white sage, but without the cultural appropriation and closed practice it comes from. #spiritual #cleansings #candles #incense #junipersage #norsevampireserk #norsepagan #norse

Watched some of the game. I'm a Vikings fan, born and raised Minnesotan. #1 Hockey is way better, and #2 I usually go for whoever the NFC contender is since that's the division my team is in. So, this game it was the Eagles. Who did you want to win?

If you see these. Smack them in the face. These are a couple East Coast Nazi groups. NSC.131 and Patriot Front. #getridofhate #nohate #nosupremecy #eastcoast #newengland More appropriation of symbols.

Elder Futhark: Nauthiz. General meaning of resistance, survival, and need. Elder Futhark is the oldest, but it is more germanic with 24 runes. The Younger Futhark would be what the Norse used. 12 runes. #runes #norse #norsemythology #norsepagan #northernwoodsravenclan #norsepaganism

That's why we educate and teach. We reclaim. They didn't just use Othala. They used other runes, too. So, are those not safe? Othala also happens to be my birth rune. What is safe? Nothing. So, educate, but don't continue to claim that something isn't safe when really people need to be redirected. 🙂

I think the normal, non winged version is absolutely safe. Heritage, ancestral connection, abundance, and wealth aren't bad meanings if you are looking at it from a spiritual perspective, instead of an "alphabet" perspective. This is why cultures and beliefs need to reclaim these symbols from hate.

Historically speaking, the Norsemen didn't have horned helmets. There is also no evidence of tattoos ever having been done on them, and contrary to popular belief, they did not dress how you see them in Vikings, Vikings: Valhalla show. Is it still fun, though? Absolutely. #Norse #norsepagan
