While I am very excited to work on building my art pressence, I have made the big mistake that every starting off artists is warned about: I worked myself too hard. So I am instituting Tues and Fri as 'off' days to allow myself more rest and recovery. I may still draw, but no socials or comm. work.

Finished #commission! I haven't gotten to do a #halftone in a good while, much less one with a spot color. This really stretched my thinking, and made me realize that perspective is still a weakness of mine. Excited to practice and get even better at drawing! #digitalart #csp #stylized

Back in 2014 and 2015, I drew this set of pictures. Kingdom Hearts was one of those media that gave me the push to be creative in new ways, and it was Hayden Panettiere's performance that made me fall in love with the characters of Xion and Kairi. May she find only peace beyond this life.

Finished the colored version of "Fairy Woods" from my #sketchbook! Felt good going back to my old way of doing art - drawing traditionally, then scanning in to color. While the design at this point wasn't final, this was my first imagining of how @alenabaille.bsky.social's OC would look.

A fem-presenting fairy character looks at the viewer over her right shoulder with parted lips and large green eyes, her blond hair barely contained by a green ribbon at the top back of her head, allowing her tresses to fall over her shoulders. Tried this with the two near complete stories I have in Docs. No results. I think this user shared with others, which Google has said all shared documents are scanned 'for security.' I feel icky having messed with the AI even a little. Wonder how many are now testing to see if their docs are safe?

A little #graphic I created that will be used as a watermark going forward for my posted pieces. I put a lot of personal symbolism into this piece, that you can find in the alt-text description.

The graphic is akin to a compass, but instead of a single arrow, a stylized dahlia flower, my favorite flower, with stained glass designs on the petals points to each direction, representing direction and beauty. Between each petal is the name of the artist, R-E-B-A ce-R-E-S in Times New Roman font in honor of her time spent studying English, as that was the standard font at the time. The flower itself and the ring around it is in rose gold, to show how precious art is, but with rose to show that beauty doesn't have to be monetary valuable, as rose gold often is valued at less than yellow gold. Atop the compass following the flow of the circle is the artist's website, rebaceres.carrd.co/.

Been trying to find my recent insomnia trigger and it's stress. Work stress is still attacking me even on my vacation, and yesterday a lot of neighbors shot off fireworks, causing me to overstimulate and - you guessed it - stress. "Blue Curl" 3 hour-experiment. A piece inspired by the process I took while experimenting with "Violet Feathers." I played with both a darker skinned model idea as well as different lighting types and background color. I will be studying different hair types and textures in the future!

I am in the Beginner category of Freelancer (see earlier reblog, and yes, @tsurudraws.art, this is VERY helpful!). I buckled down to improve and try the professional route 6 months ago after years of waffling, and to realize I'm not at the very beginning already is big confidence boost!
