MemDBG is growing into something much bigger than a simple memory tool: debugging, scanning, trainers, plugins, cross-platform ideas, and a lot more planned. But I need real feedback from real users.

MemDBG v0.2.0-beta.1 beta drops today. This is not a polished “final release”. This is the fun part: test it, break it, report bugs, request features, and help shape the official release.

I want to make it clear that the sandbox environment can be disabled; therefore, it is an optional security measure that is enabled by default. It is not a comprehensive protection system, but it does enhance MemDBG's security.

Seregon @seregonwar.bsky.social · 10/07/2026
To improve security, I’m implementing a sandbox for Lua and Python plugins in MemDBG. That said, before downloading or running plugins published by anyone other than me or trusted developers, always review the code. Use AI to help if needed. Don’t trust blindly. Stay safe.

Let's say yes. In the README, I listed 112 MB/s as the maximum value, but it can vary depending on the configuration. Is that what you meant?

I know, if I were to develop a client for managing file transfers, I would implement a protocol with less overhead and greater security.
010
Seregon @seregonwar.bsky.social · 09/07/2026
It’s a really good project, but personally I think it would have made more sense to build it on top of shadPS4 rather than starting from scratch. That’s just my opinion, of course, but it’s probably the approach I would have taken.

Has anyone else encountered problems similar to this issue in zftpd? The user who opened the issue isn't responding, and I'd like to know if this is an isolated problem or a widespread one: github.com/seregonwar/z...

Use your preferred FTP client, or just open the local web interface from your phone, tablet, PC or any other device connected to the same network.

What it offers: • FTP + HTTP access • Web-based file explorer • PS4 / PS5 payload builds • Linux and macOS support

No bloated stack. No unnecessary runtime. Just a portable daemon focused on speed, correctness and reliability.

Seregon @seregonwar.bsky.social · 09/07/2026
If you need a fast, lightweight FTP/HTTP daemon for PS4, PS5, Linux or macOS, give zftpd a try. It is written in C11, built around a zero-copy transfer path, and designed to move data as close as possible to the physical limit of your network.

As for features, I'm not sure, I've had a few requests in the past, but they've been very few. Who knows🤔

Seregon @seregonwar.bsky.social · 06/07/2026
I've noticed that there are very few bug reports or feature requests for my projects. As for bugs, I certainly don't think my programs are bug-free, no matter how hard I try to catch them before release with various tests, something always slips through.

The idea: native process and system memory debugging on Linux, macOS and Windows — something closer to a modern, cross-platform Cheat Engine for developers, researchers and modders. What do you think?

Meanwhile, since MemDBG is becoming a large, modular and extensible project, I’m considering expanding it beyond PS4/PS5.

The release of the new version of MemDBG is taking longer than expected due to some issues unrelated to the project itself, partly because I'd like to release my Discord server along with this release. github.com/seregonwar/M...

I also want to improve the plugin GUI system, since it’s currently embedded in the Python code, but I think it would be better to move it outside into a JSON file. If you have any suggestions or better solutions, let’s discuss them. Thanks for your support! github.com/seregonwar/M...

I also want to try to identify all the edge cases that lead to kernel panics so that I can prevent inexperienced users from crashing their consoles; some of the most dangerous features already have a confirmation dialog, so I’ll simply extend that functionality.

Hi, everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to ask you what features you'd like to see in the next version of MemDBG. I'm already implementing a plugin system, as I've mentioned in other posts, but I think it would be a good idea to get you more involved in the project.

Hi, I can't create two separate repositories for the same codebase, or development would become more complicated. As you can see, the naming convention already includes a flag, and the naming structure remains consistent across releases—see “zftpd-ps5-zhttp-v1.5.0.bin” and "zftpd-ps5-v1.5.0.bin"
